Meryl - Day 4 - Flowering
She's still stretching her nodes out nicely, which I'm glad about since I'm seeing this is allowing a lot more light to reach the undergrowth. Snipped off a few dead (or near dead) leaves on the bottom, so now she's looking presentable again.
The two nodes that were supposed to pop out after I topped her have FINALLY made their way up, so I'm counting seven tops at this point. If you'll look at the right of the top-down picture, you'll notice that another branch has crept out from the undergrowth and is starting a new top of it's own.
Topping + LST = Win

Naomi - Day 52 - Still in veg
Yeah, I know, she's taking forever, but she had a rough upbringing, so I'll give her a break.
I gave Dixie, the baby Skunk plant, away to a friend last night and he couldn't be more excited. I may be starting up a new journal for his grow, but we'll see how he does since he's a first-time grower, too. The plus side is I've been able to dedicated the space and I lighting I was using on her entirely to Naomi now.
She's responding any LST I do within hours now. Plus, she's got lots of side growth starting up, which is turning out better since snipped off a few malformed leaves on the bottom to give the new ones more light. I'll try and get a picture of her when she ISN'T stooped over within the next couple days, but she's expanding so quickly I keep forgetting to take pictures until after I tie her down again.
Quick question for any experienced LSTers: is her trunk bent over too much? I've anchored it down in three different places, but it seems to be pretty rubbery right now since it's so thin. Am I doing any long term damage or will she be fine?

Your light is fine leave it alone. Buy a cheap led panel mixed lighting blue and red and put it on the side of your girls. Now they will be getting light all over. I'm growing sour creme myself. I'm on 3 weeks flower after 2 months veg. The nugs are very dense and the hairs grow very short compared to other strains.I'm using cfls also all are 2700k for flower and 2 colored cfls red that are 2700k. They love the red cfls. But they only sell them as 13watt.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but from what I've come to understand red is AWESOME for flowers. I'll be switching out all of these daylight bulbs with reds in about a week, so it should be in time for the plant to really start pickin up the pace.

Meryl is STILL growing like she's in veg. This is her 5th day of flower and I'm starting to see what appear to be tiny buds growing out. My biggest fear right now is that she'll hermie after all this work. About how much stress does it take to really scare them into growing balls?
Also, based on her size, what kind of dry weight does anyone think I'll be looking at. I want a realistic number, but I'm afraid I might end up only getting 7 grams or something.

Not much to update today, more LST on Naomi, Meryl is starting to show buds, but it's too early to really tell. I know she's feminized, but I still have this sick feeling that she's gonna hermie. Keep your fingers crossed

Meryl - Day 9 - Flowering

Sorry, RIU's server seems to have been showing some trouble whenever I try to access it, but everything's working now.
Anyway, Meryl showed her first hair about 3 days ago and she's been growing more and more ever since! I on't have any high-res pictures, but I do have some pics of the insane bushiness she's got going on...
You can't really see what's going on in terms of buds yet, but it's still early in the game. It's only 9 days into flower and she's already starting to STINK. Like, unbelievably smelly. It's making me worried, since I don't have a real ventilation system so I can't attach a charcoal filter anywhere. What's a good odor control solution to hold me over until I order some ona gel next week?

Her low growth rate is kind of frustrating at this point. I fear I may have stunted her permanently during the overwatering fiasco. I'll be sending her into flower soon, I'm just gonna try and get a couple more days out of her beforehand.
The leaves on the bottom are starting to turn a pale yellow color. You can kind of see it in the picture. Anyone have an idea as to what the problem/solution may be?
Also, Meryl is already starting to prove why her strain is called "Skunk". It's 9 days in, her flowers are only visible up close and she already STINKS. I'll be buying some Ona gel soon, but I need to know are there any low budget smell solutions that don't require a ventilation system? I haven't set one up since I rent and it's gonna be pretty hard to work one out for a beneath-the-stairs closet.

I just remembered when my brother was in 7th grade he won the state science fair by proving that electricity can have a positive effect on plant growth. I hit him up and sure enough he remembers all of his findings from that experiment. Since the materials will cost me next to nothing, I WILL be trying this on my next grow.

It's been a few days, but I've got some good updates for y'all. I got a new phone with a WAY BETTER camera on it, so I've got some much butter photos today
Meryl - Day 15 - Flowering
She's turning into a beast quickly. She still grows a little bit of vertical space every day no matter how close I keep the lights. She actually ended up burining a few fan leaves that way, but otherwise she's doing GREAT.
Her tops are getting nice and hairy. They're starting to swell up pretty nicely. Stay with me and I'll have some nug pr0n.
Naomi - Day 6 - Flowering
Since Meryl has grown completely out of control and Naomi is taking forever, I've decided to start her on flower and harvest what I can. She's still a decent size, but pretty puny compared to what I wanted at first.
Hairs are showing so far, no nanners to report. Here's one of her last night before lights out.
I've started with tiger bloom on Meryl and comletely phased out GB at this point. Naomi is getting full GB until tomorrow, then half and half, then full TB. Seemed to work on Meryl, so I'll keep it up.
I plan on flowering Meryl for at least 30 more days, longer if necessary. She's currently under 6 2700k 23w CFLs and one red CFL for a total of over 10,000 lumens on this bitch.
Naomi is under 7 2700k 23w, so she's actually getting more light than Meryl at this point, but I figured she could use the extra help.
I've grown past the whole over-caring phase and it feels good. What should I expect and prepare for at this point?

Eventually having to deal with pests ie bugs from crappy soil, molds from humidity problems, local security concerns... shit like that... lookin good tho, I'll keep on eye on your flowering.

good choices let me know about skunk 1. my scream sativa smells so good. one day it decided to grow to the light and burn, but its ok the undamaged parts smell so fucking good my first sativa!

I'm pretty excited lately. My plants are looking good and I just got a new android phone, I'm looking forward to a good harvest. I just tried making a couple clones with some hormones and jiffy pellets. Updates on them if they work

Try keeping them humid everything should work out fine for you.

Yea humidity in the dome is key. Mist the lid once or twice a day making sure not to over saturate your jiffy pellets.

Meryl is getting all the tiger bloom she can take every 3 days now, and she isn't showing any signs of stopping. Still moving the lights every day, but I found out that mug hooks are a cheap solution to my problem.
The hairs are really clumping up now, I want them to turn into fat buds already! I can see trichomes already forming on some of the leaves, so I'm pretty sure I'll have some dankage to smoke if I keep playing my cards right.

As you can see, the LST really wasn't working out well. And now she's really bushy on the bottom, but the top is stretching unbelievably. Any idea why this is happening?
Also, since my next grow will feature a technique I haven't really seen before, I'll be posting video updates on it as well. I'll be ordering new seeds soon since I want to try a new strain, and I want the test to be as controlled as possible.
