not to mention that its big, bulky, and half the light hangs out the reflector.there are much smaller..better built systems for less than that out there.looks like it would need another ballast to go along with whatever that thing is above the bulb.seems like a homemade fire hazard to me

I bought two from craigslist and I have no complaints about them. They can be made into remote units by soldering in three wires. Add a side hood rather than the funnel hood and they're every bit as good as the hydro shop units. That funnel reflector can be moved all the way to the base of the bulb to give you a wider spread of light. The ones I have are even better than some of the hydro units because I can burn cmh bulbs.

There's almost sure to be several people in the forums who can use those lights. I'm not knocking you for posting it, but there are better deals out there.

What kind of response is that? He was sharing information that he thought might be helpful to somebody.

Smaller, better built, and for less? Post one. I'm very interested. Thanks.

that response was based on the pic i saw of a giant ass light and fixture.will it work..im sure.but is it worth it for a 30-40 pound light?not to mention that these are more than likely used...and at that weight you have to factor in shipping..which i bet is more than the cost of the light.if your looking for something cheap to get you by...then by all means these will work.id rather buy from a company than some guy thats ripping parts out of abandon buildings...you have no way of knowing where its coming from or what condition its in.

Those lights are all over. I'm surprised that somebody even bothered putting them on ebay. There's a federal law or something requiring all the schools to remove them, possibly to keep students from stealing them to use for grow lights. But the law may require businesses to remove them as I've noticed many businesses are doing so. The end result is that there's warehouses full of them to buy cheap, so that some people who couldn't ordinarily afford high-powered lighting can still get in on the act. And there's nothing at all wrong with using them for grow lights. I still don't get your negative response. It's like Rzza said, it's all the same thing dude, 400-1000 watt mh/hps. If I don't have something positive to say in somebody's post, I usually go on to the next post.

I'm still waiting for you to post something Smaller, better built, and for less.
