cloning soon

i'm getting ready to clone and i have a question about what product to use:
i've heard that you can get better results with powder, yet i've also read that the gel protects the clone instantly, which is better?
the gel seems much more practical to me...

also, do the sites where you take the clones sprout new leaves like a typical plant, i'd assume so i just haven't seen much about that

I have a perpetual grow, i take clones weekly.........I keep it simple: A humidity dome, heating pad, rooting powder and soil in party cups.

I almost never lose a clone and have roots in about a week with most of the strains I run.

I'd guess so, not sure though; Ive never used Rapid Rooters....i just cut them, soak in water for a minute, dip in rooting powder and place in soil.

thanks, i like things when they are that simple.

i have a powder that i use for plants in my herb/veg gardent that's called "rooting", i'll just run a test with that one to see if it works

Great way to go about it in the beginning keep it simple, hell im hardly beginning and ive tried a lot of different methods over the years......i went back to easy and simple and havent regretted it other than using a lot of soil because my grow is perpetual....

Also smart to try a new thing on just 1 or 2 plants.....if things go sideways at least you will only harm those 1 or 2 plants...remember they call it "weed" for a reason, it grows easily w/ a good medium, light, food and water. You can have a NASA Spcelab grow if you want, it isnt necessary to just grow though. Good luck

Ahhh the joys of simple cloning! :) All i use is jiffy pellets and superthrive! Powders and gels are great but like "Ink" said thats why the call it weed lol :)

What is hardening off?
As mentioned it is acclimatizing / familiarizing plants to the "real world", before putting them into it full on. One thing that they are not used to at all, perhaps the primary new thing that can kill them.... UV Rays. They dont exactly get many of those indoors. BUT they can catch a few UV rays if you mix a reptile UV-B lamp into the lighting scheme. I still would "harden" them off a bit, but in theory with previous exposure to UV-B... they should already be somewhat hard before going outside.

Its kinda like how we simulate wind and breeze to a certain extent. They aren't too confused about it, well before going outside.

Now for Cloning.... You might investigate Air Root Cloning, and at least be aware of it as a concept perhaps for future experimentation. Here is a thread on Air Root Clones, and Multiple Root System

i tried a clone last night and it looked good for several hours, and when i woke this morning i saw that i successfully killed it... i think it got an air bubble in the stem? i snipped off the tip and i cut it from the plant to help prevent this.

i have had almost flawless success with cuttings of legal plants... there are times when i take my dogs on a walk and come back with 10 cuttings from plants from around town and i just recut, plant, and add superthrive. it always works and that's why i have a wonderful outdoor garden, i don't know why marijuana would be anymore difficult.

i'm just going to ask my mom to do it for me, she's the one who taught me how to plant cuttings
