question about cloning

Well all my babies seem to be coming along pretty good. Our AC went out last night thought =( and the maintence dude came buy and fixed it, but i had to shut the lights out for about 2 hours. I wonder if this is a huge stress to them? Things should be back on track though. I flushed out the haze last night cause i think it has nute burns? Leaves look dried out and yellow. I cant think what else could cause that. So i flushed it with about 15 gallons of tap water, then finished it off with 2 more gallons of distilled water. Im hoping this was the right thing to do. Ive also done a little LSTing on the roadrunner. The haze is very bushy and stalky, while the roadrunner is several inches taller and alot more lanky. So i tide the four main branches so that the plant looks tighter, or more bunched up. It puts all the buds closer to the light so i figure thats a plus.

I also decided im going to buy a 400 watt hps for my future clones

Im about to start making clones for the first time ever!!! ive got all the gear, i just dont wanna screw up. My plan is to basically cut off six good looking branches, but im wondering.... theres already a good amount of light in the grow room right now. How much light do clones need? should i give them their own cfls, or just keep them close by the other plants?

What are you using to clone? The clones definitely won't need much light, but they will do better on a 18/6 than a 12/12 which is what you have your other plants on. Are you taking clones from the flowering plants?

i actually have the lighting set at 20/4. The 2 plants that are flowering are auto's, and i have a red desiel next to them thats vegging. i have 150 watts hps on the auto's and a 68 watt cfl on the desiel. I can always add more cfls if need be, but i dont wanna do something stupid and give too much light lol

The clones won't require much light, so they will probably be fine from the light coming off your HPS and CFLs. I didn't know you were on a 20/4, so that should be fine. The reason you don't want too much light on your clones is because it will generally cause more perspiration through the leaves, and the last thing you want to do is take a plant without any roots and increase the rate of perspiration. What are you going to use to clone the plants?

thanks for the info! i will be using root tech cloning gel, rockwool cubes, and i have a humidity dome =)

I've never cloned with rockwool, I'm a big EZ-Clone fan, it's just sooo easy...lol. Good luck with the cloning!
