Hey bro, I got two outdoor northern lights from nirvana seeds. Its my first time doing outdoor and I was just wondering when do they normally start to flower? Do some even take till October to start??

Also I noticed I've been able to give them loads more of nitrogen without any nute burn, they're taking it in like crazy. Is this a sign of the end vegging?

Your in NorCal, correct? Most likely mid-late september is when budding will start...in some places it can take up to october...

It may be, you only have at least a month before they start budding and they're taking up all the nitrogen they can, before it is no longer a necessity...

1st time grower using soil.

When do I know when the soil is depleted of nutrients and when would I start using nutes?

I usually start a nute schedule at the 2-2 1/2 week from seed/clone mark, but it also depends on the soil you are using, if you have something like FFOF, then it will have enough nutes for the first few weeks...

I just transplanted to FFOF and am currently using Botanicare Liquid Karma, and CalMag. I am going to wait a week or so before I start the Botanicare Pure Gro back up. Do this lineup of nutes have all of the nutrients that I need? Just started the CalMag and Karma a week ago and my plants still have brown splotches all over them. Does it take time for the nutes to get distributed or is there something more sinister at play here.

I too would love to know the answer to this question.

I was wondering also. If you transplant, is it a good or bad idea to bury the first set of leaves at the bottom of the stock nearest the soil. Oh, and why, or why not?

If there is a considerable amount of upper growth already, then it wouldn't make a difference if the 1st true leaves are buried...

Thanks man! That will help keep me legal later on. Got 12 bagseeds rooting right now for my big medical grow.
I can only keep my "immature plants" 12 inches tall, and 12 inches wide. How would you grow it?
I am supposed to supply 2 zips a month to my patients, and only have a 6 pack of CFL's, and no cash...damned economy. Yeah, I'm doing soil. Any advice?

If I had to keep them that short, I would probably top them, and possibly lst as well, maybe even scrog, if possible...what wattage are the cfl's? Regardless, you should probably get more for flowering!

I am going to get some more. They are the 26W CFL from Wal-Mart. $8 a 6 pack. Also have 2 34W 4ft flouro's to help veg.

ScrOG sounds good. I was thinking maybe perpetual? Like 6 in flower at a time. 6 that would be vegging at 2-4ft tall. and like 10-12 baby clones? I am allowed 12 "mature"(over 12in round/tall) plants, and 36 immature. Take the clones as I put them into flower...too bad I can't do Hydro yet.

Sounds like a plan, hydro would be a much better method for a perpetual crop, but soil would work great too!

Yes, you can take clones from clones that are mature...

It should produce bud if it gets a few hours of direct sunlight per day...the rain clouds haven't cleared yet?

Plants start budding when the days grow shorter during the Autumn/Fall months...it probably isn't mature enough to show sex, while in veg yet...but it will eventually show sex if the light cycle is remotely close to 12/12...

No problem, it's my way of giving back to the community that has helped me so much!

It looks like it could be a potassium deficiency, since you seem to be going the organic route, I would recommend, AN Iguana Juice, FF grow big, maybe even the GH organics line...the decision is ultimately up to you...
