this doesnt make any sense? you have 20k or in bud around the corner and you can find a place to dry them indoors under proper conditions?
Its moron comments like this that make me believe more and more I made the right decision in not doing any more updates.

Why is it hard to believe that people don't have an indoor place to dry their buds? Some of us have families, responsibilities to people that don't want even soft drugs like marijuana anywhere near them. If compromising my families security is an issue, I won't take the risk.

I guess these are the kind of comments you get from 15-year old kids that post on RIU.

And 20k worth of weed? Lol, I wish kid...you sound like those idiot cops that pull a dozen plants out of some house and declare on the nightly news:

"a major drug bust was had today, with the eradication of 12 marijuana plants, worth an estimated $3 billion."

There should be a simple IQ test required for those who want to sign up for this website.

someone else, kudos on the grow and hiking out in the dead heat of the day. We can't wait until oct/nov to see more and would recommend a plastic box at least to keep from having the drying process setback by a downpour, which occur quite often in my neck of the southeast.

Good luck with flowering and the compromises.

Yep... I can agree with that. I saw that too and just wrote it off the same just without the message back. I'd love for there to be a simple IQ for just life in general.

All going good? :leaf:

Yea, I had been frustrated with a lack of interest in this thread.

It's ok though; this thread should just be a personal documentation of my growing experience and I shouldn't be worried about who finds it interesting or not.

I guess if growing Sour Diesel and G13/Haze in 5-gallon buckets has become passe' and uninteresting, then it is what it is. I don't have macro pictures and I'm not growing 15' tall California clone only monsters.

The 10 plants that are female are all budding really nicely; the Sour Diesel is really budding heavily. Still have 1 more plant that hasn't shown sex.

I've been feeding them Fox Farm Tiger Bloom on Monday's along with molasses, and on Wednesday's and Saturday's, I've been feeding them just molasses with their waterings.

I have to leave for a week and a half in the near future, so I've had to design a reservoir system for my plants while I'm gone. I've been digging holes in the hard clay soil (not fun in 98 degree heat/humidity), which I will fill with water, then partially submerge and tie down the buckets. The holes won't drain due to the clay. I have holes that still have lots of water in them from rain that fell well over a week ago.

The buckets have many holes in the bottom that I originally drilled for drainage. They'll be used for THIS purpose in transporting water UP to the roots, and hopefully give my plants the water they'll need when I'm gone. They'd die if I didn't water them in that time. It's always high 90s and humid here, and the plants wilt even after 4 days if I don't water.

One bonus of the hot weather and lack of water when I'm gone, is marijuana protects itself from lack of water and dying by producing more resins during the flowering stage.

I'll update with a video this Saturday afternoon.

Hey thanks for stopping by carrimw!

I for sure will be protecting the drying plants on strings with a box of some sort, preferably with small holes on the sides to improve airflow.

I'm hoping to use cardboard boxes, string the string through the boxes, and hang the plants inside them. I'll then cover the top of this operation with a tarp. This will all occur inside the canopy of the forest, so a tarp won't be visible from the air.

I wonder if you could use a car battery, timer, pump, and some tube to water your plants while your gone?
That's actually a really good idea. I'm pretty sure my idea will work though, although probably not as well as setting up a timer/pump would.

Just seeing the water sit in the holes I dug early in the year gave me the idea, and since the clay absolutely does not drain, I think it should work for the time I'll be gone. Fingers crossed.

Watering is a bitch. I was thinking of automating it next year. Find a good creek and set some self watering pots about 10 feet higher than the creek to prevent flooding. From the pump I would go to a small water tank with a pressure switch. From the water tank I would run pressurized water to a bucket with a toilet boil float/valve. Then gravity feed the water to the self watering pots that contain their own water valves.

What do you think? To complicated?

Eh, for me, it would be too complicated, but if you have the means and the engineering prowess, give it a try man.

If you're able to run a pressurized tank system/toilet bowl valve to a guerilla grow, you better post pics, because that would be one of the coolest things RIU has seen in a while.

Thanks, I was trying to figure out a way to keep the visits down to once a month for a battery change and nutes.

I will do ukjw. At this point, I just want to document the experience, and things are starting to get very interesting. :weed:

Thanks! I'm about to do an update as soon as I finish uploading the videos to YouTube.

Really impressed with your canopy....you're gonna have some ridiculous nuggets of gold in a few months here. :weed:

I'll be watching!

Just watered the plants with plain water. I've used plain water the last two times, just to kinda flush the roots from all the molasses and Fox Farms nutes I've been giving it, washing away some of the acidity.

This video is of the Sour Diesel. I know the video is blurry, I can't help it, it sucks. Taking that into consideration, you can still see the buds on the plants. I'll include some still-frames I created a little bit later.

I'll include a video of the G13/Haze too in a little while.

The buds look really great despite what you can see in the video. This camera works so much better indoors, and the bud shots will be nicer once the bud is being cured.
