When does mj start to flower?

I have a quick question. I was growing 7 plants (4 Northern Lights 3 Afghan) on my window sill under the suns rays. I started them from seed in March. Two showed sex about 3 weeks ago, and were male. The other five are still growing. One has the tiny white pistils showing, so is female! The other four are still not showing. Is this normal? The one that is definately female is showing no signs of budding. Does anyone know when I should star to see things happening. Thought it would of started by now.

Showing sex does not equal flowering. Plants will show their sex once mature enough, not just when they start flowering.

Just wait it out a little longer, they'll flower soon enough. Those are some rather large plants for the location That said, if i can see all your neighbours windows from your photo, chances are they can see through yours..

I got the seeds from a seed bank advertised off here. So i bought the proper stuff. Its my 1st grow and am quite pleased with the result. From bottom of the pot to tip of plant, the tallest is 4 feet tall. Som i have taken the bottom leaves off some i have left so i see if theres a difference. So the plants will flower i havent got duds then and they wll die. Is it when the natural sunlight will be 12 12 that they should start flowering? If so I will probably harvest around christmas time!!!

Pretty much spot on fella. When using the sun, the plants will start to flower once the days have shortened enough so could depend on your location. (i'll hedge a very silly bet and say you live in england )

Oh dear tip top! How right you are. Yes I live in not too sunny England, South London. So however long it takes for the days to get shorter is when they start? Bloody Christmas I bet you.

It's typically october harvest for UK outdoors, but it will vary a bit from strain to strain etc. Cannabis will start to flower when the light/dark periods reach about 12 hours of each, so maybe the 1st week of September.

Figured you were UK by your neighbours roof haha. I'm a southern fairy myself. Gotta compensate for all the northerners milling around the forum

Indeedy, It's actually the south west, good ol somerset, cider country. You'll find no yankee blood running through these veins

A plant can show it's sex before flowering sometimes certain plants will show a resin gland this sometime's splits early and if hairs shoot from it then it will noramly be feamale but sometimes due to certain growroom temps or stress it will show signs of both male and female hermi if you only have one plant growing and it was aheri i would grow it out you will still get a smoke of it but if there is other females in the room then TIMBER down it would come and out of the house wash before going any where near the other plants has a tiny ammount of pollan can cause major problems.Uk flowering time's are normaly around the end of august begining of september.The light intenceity his year has been very low in the uk it has been warm but the light has been very low causeing alot of streching so all in all a bad year for outdoor in the uk......................tyke...................

Thanks Tyke for the advice. Its my 1st grow and i must admit im quite pleased with what i have acheived. If these turn out ok in theend result I will be getting a grow tent etc and do a bit of indoor growing!
