Ruderalis=shit weed.
thats the subspecies in autoflowering strains.

I think there is a certain market for them, like a comadity because you can just pop them and grow them on your window sill or in your back yard pretty much at any time of the year and get bud. I grew out some diesel ryder and am working on some crosses to continue to up the potency of the autoflower. I think there pretty cool! Oh and the bud is super dank and frosty but I grow at super high altitudes.

I like them. White and red dwarf my favorites so far. STAY AWAY FROM FLASH AUTO'S! They are crappy genetics IMO. I heard Nirvana's take 4-5 weeks to show sex and thats not to auto lol

why would they suck? people have different needs. i've grown absolutely killer autos, tasty/long uplifting high, i do agree with the ruderalis point but it isn't a big deal. i think the biggest difference, besides yield, would be the taste and smell. Non-autos have better taste and smell for sure

also, i keep several in my veg room so by the time i flower i have autos harvesting, to be honest the are really fun to grow

IMHO the Iranain autoflower potency is as good as anything you can name and it yields anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 pound..

I've grown out a Roadrunner and an Easy Ryder.. Def not less in potency. Some of my heavy smoker friends were very impressed. I think they are great for small grows, or to utilize your veg cycle more if you are vegging out some big plants. It's nice having an early harvest before your big plants have even started flowering. Makes sense to me if you got the room to grow a few more small ones.

I just tried budist seeds' purple kush, it sucked! It smelt so flowery and good and I couldn't wait to try it!!! It had crystals and looked like something straight out of hightimes, but when I smoked it, it didn't knock me on my ass like it looked like it would do. I was so disappointed in the strength of it, I have honestly smoked brown weed that got me higher. It just makes you want to cry. I was told they're bred with a non thc producing hemp family member to get them to grow the way they do. I have not yet read up on that. Seriously though, I would never try it again. For how little you get, and the fail-high it isn't even worth it.

I've been growing photos outside for a long time. Last year was my first auto run. I ran Dutch Passions Blueberry, G13 labs Pineapple Express, WOS Pakistan Ryder and La Diva. The Pineapple Express was the best imo. Heres a pic of my auto girls, started from seed, outdoors from start to finish.

They don't necessarily "suck".

Its all about picking the strain that's right FOR YOU.

If you need to grow a little tiny plant inside a small confined space, or otherwise keep your plants tiny, one of the dwarf autoflower varieties could be a good choice.

If you want to grow outside, but harvest at a time OTHER than fall, or try what amounts to continuous harvests outside, that is probably THE best use of autoflower plants.

If you have a little extra space in your veg area, you can use it by growing an autoflower.

But other than these applications, autos don't have many advantages, and do have some disadvantages.

Note that saying they have ruderalis genetics in them, and ruderalis is like hemp, therefore these are like hemp is way overly simplistic.

The fact is, some of these modern third-generation autoflowering plants are over 30-40 generations removed from ruderalis plants, and contain only a small and insignificant proportion of ruderalis genes. I wouldn't say a plant that was 99% indica and 1% ruderalis (for example) was a ruderalis. Some of the current better autos are effectively indistinguishable from conventional plants in terms of flavor and potency.

Ok somebody point me to a good thread about autos. 2 weeks they start to flower on their own? Do you keep em in the veg. or flower room hrs? I am not new at this except the autos part.

oh, cloning. Do you top em or clone em? With flowering starting at 2 weeks I am not sure? If they are on wk 3 and have started to flower at 4 inches is it too late or let em go naturally?

Autos aren't bad at all, the yield could be more but fast bud hasn't disappointed me yet, as far as thc, idk wtf those guys are talkn about, bad cure maybe? My shit was legit, tasty and potent, don't top just lst, u can clone but its not worth it. 20/4 or 18/6 thru whole propagation
