I'm a noob...I copied this for my notes awhile back. Hope it helps.

NPK

"The elemental symbol for nitrogen is N; for phosphorus it's P; for potassium it's K. All three of these elements are essential for plant growth and are considered macronutrients. N, P, and K are the three principal ingredients in most fertilizers. The NPK ratio is shown by three numbers, such as 2-1-1, that reflect the percentage of each." (props to the person I copied this from, can't remember who)

I'm sure one of the more experienced growers will stop by and give suggestions on what nutes to use.

Yes.

NPK

This term refers to the ratio of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) in fertilizers.

It is always expressed as N-P-K. For example, a fertilizer labeled as 24-6-6 has 24% nitrogen, 6% phosphorus, and 6% potassium

In this example, the remaining 64% of the fertilizer is comprised of inert matter

N-P-K refers to the ratio of important elements in a fertilizer or soil amendment. N stands for nitrogen, which is responsible for strong stem and foliage growth. P is for phosphorus, which aids in healthy root growth and flower and seed production. K stands for potassium, which is responsible for improving overall health and disease resistance.

Most of the guys on here recommend that you start slow with the nutes at first, then work your way up with the dose. I started using my Fox Farm nutes at 25% strength and have moved up to 50% so far.I might even stay at that amount (50%)through out the grow. Its all how your plants react to the nutes.

Just spend time on here and read and then read some more....you'll learn a lot.

To be honest I'm a noob and would hate to give you wrong info.Maybe someone else that stops in your thread can give better advice.
