STUNT plants no more growing need help

hi all. my first batch of seeds all died due to extra nutes..so did the second batch only 4 survived out of almost 30 seeds...yes i am new...but those 4 got big 16-18 inch tall with around 7-8 nodes in my Hydro/DWC sys. then i read about molasses i put some in my hydro tank, and algea hits like a nuke bomb
I cleared it by flushing with tap water and bleatch...but i over reacted with the bleatch a little....or a lot maybe..plants all got badly stunt..roots all brownish so i trimmed it abit....almost lost the 4 plants...
THEN once they showed some life and started to get out of the depression, i over nuted the bitches again im so stoned all the time
My PPM though was at only 400ppm when that happened how come?....and now(week later) i am at 250 ppm..at around 300ppm they start showing yellow tips...all leaves are curling downwords..they also grow very slow, i use iguana and earth tea from A.N.

stop giving your seeds nutes, watch what your doing more, dont bleach your tank, scrub your tank PUT SOME EFFORT INTO IT MAN!!! its big money your saving is all im saying gl man i know about plant stress

Do you know if your ppm meter is giving you the right information? Sounds to me like your not to stoned to feed your girls, your ppm meter needs to be re calibrated or replaced. Have ya thought of that?

thanks for reply, yes i did clibrate it to make sure...0 ppm for distilled water/135ppm for my tap water.. When do i know that my plants need nutes? i only fear to under feed it..and i dont know when to start feeding my plants are 3 months old and still at 13-15 inches tall..i feed top feed hydro DWC 15min/hr...straight water/from tap+air stone(i dont let the water to sit for a day, i just feed it right away after adding the airstone..so i can use the little amount of chlorine to kinda give a wash to my roots,since all chlorine evaporates after a few hrs due to the air stone..right?) ...1 plant started to have new growth..other 3 still waiting for the enlightment or something sry no pics

Seems like everyone is afraid of under nuting a plant. I gess its the fear of loss but I ask you, how many times have you heard of someone having that problem vs. over nuting. Not many right? If you are going to go hydro you need to know what your working with. Distilled or r/o water is best. If you cant make that happen use your tap at 120 ppm then say you want your res at 500 ppm, then mix in nutes to reach 500 total and your good. ph after you add nutes or water. If you use your tap it is best you let it set over night or a couple hours with an airstone in it so the chlormines have a chance to dissipate, not chlorine. No, it is not good to wash roots with.

Something I experenced a while ago in an indoor grow, my plants were stalled and I couldnt figure it out until I got more fresh air in there. Seems they outgrew the air source. BTW, Calmag works wonders in flower.

Many humble thanks to your help cruzer +rep bro...im going full organic by AN (iguana juice bloom,earth tea bloom,nirvana) my plants still dont like it over 250 for some reason, i just refilled the tank with new fresh tap water only ph adjusted..at around 150 ppm and plants look like they were waiting for it.I dont want to start the flowering untill they show good recovery...then start 12/12..
Hope i wont under nute them...when do i start adding nutes?some ppl say 10 days of only water till u start adding nutes?but how do i know its time to nute?
..... and should i nute every 2,3 feeds of straight water or keep nutes mixed with water all the time...if i overfert them again..they r doomed to the garbage

When a plant starts turning yellow instead of green I know she needs food. New growth is light green right? if your whole plant starts lookin like that then increase the nutes. I have done a few grows where I never went over 400ppm. Depends on the strain.
A new strain I will start nutes at 200ppm when I see 3 or 4 sets of leaves. I do that for a week then go 300. I'll usually push it, each week going up 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 untill I get the tips burn. Then I back off and know what its limits are.

Hydro grows are a constant feed so keep the nutes in the res. check it every couple days and add water (top off) and ph again. Change out every week to a new res. Once you get the hang of it you can add back nutrients with your water you top off the res with. just keep your ph around 5.8 and your gold.

in how long would u think a plant start showing signs of lack of nutes once it is being fed straight water continuously...is there a scale or a graph of nutes uptake/day that would be awsome i also found out that i feed my plants 9L/15min of feed cycle is that enough? is there a scale or a graph for this too Excuse my ignorancekiss-ass Cheers

Depends on the medium you are using as to how fast the roots absorb the moisture. If they are like my hydro, suspended in air then the best cycle I have found is 1 min on and 3 min off but that requires a cycle timer. 15 on 15 off is about the best you can do with an inexpensive timer and it works ok. Now if your growing in a medium such as hydroton then 30 min twice a day cause the pellets retain moisture. DWC is a constant run to keep air in the water so the roots dont suffocate and rot. What are your roots in?

i am uasing a 5 gallon with a 12 inch basket having around 2galons of hydroton..with an airstone in the bottom of the buket. top feeding, and i measured the amount of water i feed to my plant during the 15min/hour cycle which was around 9-10L of water. So my roots are part in hydroton part hanging in air, and part in the 2inch deep water+airstone.
i have a STONED plant-i smoke too much around her -didnt move a hair for close to 2 weeks now. but its still alive and dark green cheers

Gotcha, In that case what I would do is to keep an air stone in the 5 gal bucket run 24/7 and top feed twice a day for 30 min.
The upper part of the root system does better when it can dry out some. Get her more fresh air and your good to go.

I agree you should do some research before you take on a project but I think the best way to learn is trial and error.

i agree more with that part...trial and error makes u learn more than only researsh..R&D comes later..im an engr and i like experimenting without limits..built amazing robotics this way. I also like to push limits to max so i can graph my results and determine critical points. Hard to go wrong after thateven if ur HIGH

Now i am using distilled water only..since I built a home made distiller last night making 1 gal/hr at around 10ppm Ohh and this is the first time in my entire life to grow a plant..4 ones hehe excuse my ignorance smknnpokn i've read through this forum like a worm. still do.

Ya know, there are so many different variables in a grow its really hard to say what the best watering schedule. You really have to let the plants tell you how much they need. I suggested twice a day at 30 min cause thats what worked well for me in a water farm setup that is somewhat similar to what you got going. If they droop water more, if they start lookin like cabbage back off. If they are yellow more nutes, if the tips burn back off. Thats really the best advice I can give you.

Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like had I gone into engineering instead of sales. I do enjoy finding all the ways something doesn’t work until I do get it right. There is something very satisfying in that for sure.

hi all..thank you so far for your help..my plants are getting back into shape after i feed it only water ph 5.2 and some hydrogen peroxide.
now im back using my big tank with 280ppm..the plants sucked the nutes down to 260ppm and getting a little greener, ill wait a week and then start adding 50 ppm as a step. I still hope there is some place where i can find GRAPHS for diff plant behaviours...like nute uptake vs time...or water uptake vs time/growth..etc i found a table for
