This was our first Journal! I promise the next will be better!!!

This will be a journal using the Sprinkler NFT that was described on the HSOLA forums:http://www.hsola.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=43 OG Kush, Purple Diesel and Duffman OG was grown. This is my first Medical Marijuana Journal. (All these plants are legal and accounted for with multiple doctors notes) Law enforcement please leave us in peace as nothing is sold. Everything grown was consumed by the growers)( Don’t ask to buy, we don’t sell!)
This is the sprinkler NFT used and Described here: http://www.hsola.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=43

Mothers and Cut Clones (I’m not counting day 1 till they go in the trays) Mothers were grown in Vermiculite, Perlite and Peat moss, top fed drain to waste!

We use an EZ clone with a humidly dome and get good results. Please ask if you need a clone recipe and I’ll post one. Rocklwool and Humidity domes can be used! We are using Sure to Grow so we need to pop out the bottom and put the roots through cut holes in the cup to make sure the delicate roots get nice water on the first days. If rockwool is used you will need to pull off as much as possible before placing them in the Sure to Grow so it can be covered in pieces of Sure to Grow. Rockwool is a nest for bugs and mold so we want to reduce all risks and hide it out of sight and light. Sure to Grow is desease and mold resistant and seems to work well with extra support.

The Purple Diesel are almost if not all Indica and were planted first so that they could gain some size before the OG’s are added to the room. We used Canadian SVA & SVB along with Earth Juice Micro blast for Veg keeping PPM around 1200 and PH no higher than 6.3 Veg for no more than a week.. 3 days is more than enough otherwise they get crowded as you will see!

This is Day 1 for the Purple Diesel

Close up of the purple Diesel on day 1!

The clones were placed in 3.75” Sure to Grow and 3.75” Net cups. A hole was cut in the cups as to not disturb the roots as much as possible and torn up sure to grow used to stuff it sturdy. Hydroton clay pebbels can be used also but they seem to be a perfect housing for bugs and we are trying to avoid that.

This pic is 4 days in Veg for the Purpel diesel and day one for the OG’s

Purple Diesel 4 days into Veg

Same roots as the root picture above 4 days in:

I was bad about taking notes (be better next time) but this picture should be 8 days of veg for the Purple Diesel (first two Rows)and 4 days in on the Duff man OG (3rd and 4th rows) and OG (5th and 6th rows)
This should be the 2nd day of 12 hr also

Here is 1 week into flowering. These plants need not veg for more than 3 days in this system as they grow super FAST. This room does not have much head room and they do end up getting too big..

For Flower we used the Canadian SBA & SBB, Earth Juice Micro Blast, Bud Blood (First 2 weeks), Bloombastic (Weeks 3-7), Super Charger vitamin complex, Hygrozyme for clean healthy roots, Fulvic Acid and some SM 90 Wetting agent. We used Serinade to rid the plants of disease and mold. For 12 hour we started at 1000 ppm and slowly raised it to around 1300 PPM and PH around 6.3 We also used a water chiller to keep our water at around 75 degrees.

Fulvic acid readily complexes with minerals and metals making them available to plant roots and easily absorbable through cell walls. It makes minerals such as iron, that are not usually very mobile, easily transported through plant structures. Fulvic acids dissolve and transpose vitamins, coenzymes, auxins, hormones, and natural antibiotics that are generally found throughout the soil making them available.
These substances are effective in stimulating even more vigorous and healthy growth, producing certain bacteria, fungi, and actinomyceles in decomposing vegetation in the soil. It has been determined that all known vitamins can be present in healthy soil.
Plants manufacture many of their own vitamins, yet these from the soil further supplement the plant. Upon ingestion animals and humans easily absorb these nutrients, due to the fact that they are in the perfect natural plant form as nature intended. Fulvic acid can often transport many times its weight in dissolved mineral elements.

Believe it or not this is 2 weeks 4 days into 12 hour.. Healthy, but already nearing the lights… A big trim was done and many lower braches were removed to reduce crowding and increase air flow. And training had to begin.. The tallest tops were tied down and bent out of the way of the light. With string we measured the growth on two plants in a 24 hour period and we got 1 3/4 inces of growth on one and 1 1/2 inches on another! Amazing! But gettiing too big... The second trellis was added about a week before this picture. (Sorry I dont have Pic of that stage)

I dont have too many pictures from week six but here are a few that did come out!

We did start gettting a little powdery mold on the OG during the 5th week. Had to spary pretty hard with Serinade. Lots of plants are too close to the lights so we had to trim back a bit also..

Great grow man! Definitely a similar setup that I am looking to achieve in the future. Was building that system a pain in the ass? Whats your clone recipe :)

Because the Purple D is indica and finishing early we separated those two rows from the Main reservoir and started pumping fresh water for the last week.. PH Balanced between 6.0 – 6.3

This is week 8, the purple diesel are getting picked today and we started flushing the Main res. The Duffman OG could probably go another few days to a week but Powdery Mildew is starting to pick up on lower branches and we do not want to spray this late in the cycle.
These are the Purple D, Notice the cut center branches.. We needed a little medication for the trim..

Here are the OG at week 8

DuffMan OG Week 8,

This is when things really started to turn bad.. The Powdery Mildew started to hit hard on the OG so they really suffered the last few weeks. We really didn’t want to spray "safer" this close to harvest so we did more trimming of the infected leaves. The DuffMan was really suffering from the heat of the lights and had to trim then back even more. The Duff Man was originally going to go for a week or two longer but it was so burnt we decided to just start flushing and harvest with the OG witch seems to be done at this point also... The mold has spread over to the DuffMan in the last week also. I was so frustrated with the burnt plants and mildew that not many pictures were taken from this point on.. I do apologize and I promise to take more notes, pictures and time when I do the next journal…

This is the Purple Diesel right before the Chop:

We aim for 55 – 60 Degrees (Never gets that low) usually about 61-65 and 55% Humidity. It is hot in the desert so our humidity is naturally low and the AC helps to dehumidify. If your humidity is above 60% you need to lower it to 50-55% or you risk mold and will take longer to get to the curing stage..
Here is the Drying chamber:

All Good PD Buds Hanging:

The following is the best close up of the curing Purple Diesel I had in the camera(sorry), The Pictures don’t really do it justice.. The buds were really dense with just a hint a Purple. A little more fruity than Diesel smelling and very very sleepy! Very much indica dominated..

The Following Pictures are one week later.. The Purple Diesel was chopped of the branches and put in a bucket for curing. The bucket was sealed but opened and turned once a day.. You want to cure the herb in large batches and as long as you can wait.. It seems to be perfect in about 2-3 weeks after it is put jars or buckets. It will start to dry out if left to long un checked or if there is too much air space in the container.. If there is too much air space, move to a smaller container. Half-Gallon wide mouth glass canning jars are perfect for smaller amounts! Test your product daily and when you feel its ready transfer into ZipLoc bags or Turkey Bags. You can also Vacuum seal your rations.. Zip Lock makes an awesome new vacuum Package... (Thanks Ziploc)

This is the full harvest, Purple Diesel is in the bucket and OG and DuffMan OG are starting the first leg of their cure:

In Total we only got about 3 ½ LBS of Top Shelf and about 1 LB of smokeable but not prize winning smoke.. The Burnt tips and Mold on lower branches really hurt the final weigh in.. We almost have enough to last till the next harvest…. Because of height problems the next Journal will be a Top Fed System, drain to waist in 5 gallon Net bottom pots.. Thanks for checking out the grow…

Building it wasnt so bad but kinda pricey, Depends how much time you have on your hands... I believe if we had more head room and spaced them out another foot or so they would have been amazing.. The system will be used again but this time we are going with a Top fed Drain to waist in 5 gallon buckets until we have more head room.

The clone recipie for the EZ clone is:
10 Gallons TAP WATER ( we use RO water for the main res but Tap for clones)
6 tsp B-1
10 tsp Extra Edge Growh (Any Very Mild Veg formula will work 1/4 strength or less)(Extra Edge is Foothill Hydroponics home mix)
3 tsp Extra Edge micro( Again any Micro mix at 1/4 strength or less)
We do dip them in Olivias cloning gel but that gets washed off into the mix pretty quick. I do believe still helps.

We have tried Olivia's cloning solution and it clogged our pump and killed all the babies.. Needless to say I have not tried it again!

Keep them sprayed wiht No-Wilt or have a humidity dome otherwise the will wilt away....

Best of Luck!

Great journal bro, I'm really looking into getting an NFT system like yours.
I see great results and I do have lots of above space, so I can use the strong grow.
