seedlings under 250w hps

hi all got 250w hps and was wondering how far it shud be from my just sprouted seedlings? Any advice wud be great

it depends it could take hours or days
i had 2 seeds that took two weeks
you should leave light off untill they sprout

they have already sprouted, i just wondered on the distance from the seedlings

oo you should put them as close as you can and then put your hand under and if its to hot just move the light up

just got ur msg tranquility, thowt i had my light too low! thanx a lot, wen do ya rekon i can add nutes? there in mini hempy buckets and from germ to sprout took 4 days and leaves are around 1.5cm onli the first set of true leaves visible, had 1 week including germ, but theyre NL autos so i wana boost growth asap so to get as big as poss in the time available, but dont wana risk burn to da seedlings??

jfa 916, ive read hps too close to seedlings will stunt growth? wot distance wud u suggest, my mate said like 8" bbut i think its way too close???

i would say 6 to 10 in but make sure they arnt 2 hot in there

i would keep the light close but not to close, keep it on for 24hrs...dont let your room get to HOT, they will look long and stretchy.. Get the bible on growing it will flip your wig with knowledge!!!

A guy on another forum i visit keeps his 250 at 9" away from seedling to harvest, with no problems. As long as you have a fan on them, this distance should be fine.

rite guna put it too 9" as its an average of what evrybody said!! always had a fan blowing over, so hopefully will be fine thanx to everybody for helping, any advice on wen to add nutes, like i say they are autos, so im wanting to boost growth asap??

rite now im confused, iv just been browsing through over threads and sites and seen peeps agreeing with tranquility that a 250hps should be kept like 20" from small seedlings, is this info wrong or is the distance of 9" for 250 cfls not hps???? Pleez help

i would wait two weeks or so, depends on the nutes. remember to start with 1/4 or a bit less, of the recommended amount.

yeh thats a really useful chart for growing, but not sure if its relavent for small seedlings, that are still sensitive to strong light, i got it at nine inchs at the minute, but they dont seem to be growing that fast, how quick should a seedling be growing a week after germing??
