Well I plan to put 30% perlite but i would do that last . So what would u say dry soil would weigh then ?

It all depends on many different factors, but i would say between 5-10 pounds a gallon. Measure out a milk job of soil and weigh it.

I need to find out the weight for dry soil
Is this a shipping thing? I don't know why else you would need to know the weight per gallon...Soil/Medium tends to be a lot cheaper if you can find it locally.

It's impossible for anyone to give you an accurate figure since "soil" can be composed of all sorts of things, and "dry" covers quite a range. I've bought bales of Pro-Mix that have had a difference of 10-15 lbs, but both would be considered "dry". You'll have to weigh it yourself.

This is the same answer I gave on your other thread!

3 gallons = 12 quarts. 30% of 12 quarts is 3.6 quarts (3.5 is close enough). So, for each "bag" allow 3.5 quarts of Perlite and 8.5 quarts of Soil mix.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. If you still think you need to weigh a gallon of soil, do this:
Fill one of your 3 gallon bags with the soil. Then weigh it. Then, devide that weight by 3.

But "30% Perlite" is figured by volume, not weight!
