Ok so I have researched this forum for some time now and read almost every post on the aerogarden and my goal is to prove that for PERSONAL USE, the aerogarden is more than enough to satisfy. I will start my aerogarden and post a journal as the grow progesses. People, the aerogarden is plenty capable, its just that people have not been using it right can you say BONSAI? Ok yea I now I need more lights. bet prob solved 9600 lumens including the aero hood. No commercial guys hijacking, just accept the fact that us aerogarden usersgrow for personal consumption! If I do three autoflowering plants in the aero bonsai style I am confident I can get at least 3oz. Input?

Sounds fun. I just bought an aerogarden myself, but I wasn't planning on using it for flowering plants. I just ordered everything I need to make a DWC, and use my aerogarden for cloning and such. But if this works, I might reconsider. I started from seed 2 days ago and already have 2 nice little sprouts.

Good luck, keep us posted.:blsmoke:

Start a journal and keep us posted. I would love to see a relatively inexpensive way for folks to grow (though I think seemorebuds methods are cheaper and already proven effective).

I myself got an ag and i placed the seeds in just yesterday and they have already sprouted. Ive been researching on the ag and I believe that with enough care and attention it should work perfectly!!!

i just bought one as a to me from me christmas present.

i took out the pre-made seedpacks and replaced each with one pot seed. i have 4 out of seven one and a half inch to 4 inch tall. my other three just got new seeds and they have already started to break. so far, one week has passed. about to get ph kit.

anyone know of varieties that like to be grown small? dwarf plants or micro pot? would be a great idea for small area grows.

i plan on pruning and i am just using normal commercial seeds for a test run. once i get to work then i'll step up to fem seeds.

its a cool sysytem and hopefully you have no problems along the way, im growing right now in one im in day 31 of flowering.
https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/34120-daves-aerogarden-grow-pics-11.html

check it out, i pretty much tell everything i did for mods and nutrients, and even lighting and fedding schedules i kind of made up...
its done good for me though..
you have, by far, the most successful aerogarden grow i've ever seen. the only problem is - i don't see much of the aerogarden left. It looks like any other DIY CFL/hydro system.

I'm not trying to be a dick - i'm just not understanding how this is an aerogarden grow. a highly modified aerogarden grow, yes - but isn't this misleading for people to think they can buy an aerogarden and with it alone, get some awesome buds?

Or i could be high and missing something...

well honestly if someone thinks that little light can handle a plant theyve got some reading up to do, that was my plan and then one day the lid couldnt go any higher and they were only a few weeks old so i had to make some decisions, so i removed the top and bought a light fixture for four lights that cost 13.00 and then 6 lights and 2 y splitters costing total of 52.00 so that aint shit to upgrade it. very cheap i think, especially if your gonna spend 150.00 on this system why not go the extra 50 bucks or so?

Why not, indeed? Your plants are great-looking proof!

i wouldn't want to hazard a guess but they look very healthy and nice.

have you ever thought of trying to prune them early to branch out and try for "micro plants"?

i think i may try that to keep size of area down.

thoughts?

this thread happens like every other day
yes it does. well I will start a journal in a few weeks. I was intending on using the AG for flowering but after a little-little thought I figured it would be best to use a 6 plant homemade dwc bubbler under 250hps and six 26 2700k cfl for flowering. So far my seedlings have took off at a rate at LEAST 3X that of any dirt grow ive done Aero bulbs and 2 26 watt cfl for veg(edit) sorry.I have a 30 gallon tub for dwc I will transfer the seedlings and clones to when ready. The ag is great! but it is best for seedling and clones if you want more than one plant. and you will need additional lighting. even to veg if you really want results. I started like every other aero grower wanting a turnkey system for personal growth, but when you figure in the price its better to build your own and suppliment with additional lighting. DO Not GET IT TWISTED, the Ag is a great learning tool for the newb and will put you on the fast track to a truly productive grow. Holla! Et- al?

It seems like the normal bonsai techique would work for cannabis, I don't see why not. The question to me is when you start to flower the plants, will they produce sizeable buds?

I'm doing the same thing you are, except only a 16 gal, 4 plant dwc under a single 400hps. I agree, the aerogarden, even after only a few days has sprouted 5 so far, and I just planted two more. This being my first time grow, I wanted to find an easy way to start out, and so far the ag has worked for me.
