Nic Brotha! I am glad for you. Just make sure you set it and its working. Hate to see you make that mistake. Now that you are using a timer, I recommend this. Anytime you plan on leaving your dwelling for ANY amount of time, make sure your lights are doing what they are supposed to, and DOUBLE CHECK THE RECHECK that your timer is on and functioning the way you want it.

I can see you are already addicted to cultivation. Its ALOT of fun! They say cannabis is not addicting, but IMO, Cultivation is. Once you get one sucessful grow under your belt, its all you will think about. You will want to better yourself all the time.
Bongs to You. Fire In da Hole!

LMFAO, great just what I need...another addiction.

I've wanted to do this for years but never had the space, privacy, time or true desire. Now since I have all those things i'm gonna be all Growy McGrowerson and I'm gonna name my first bagseed x bagseed outdoor that turns out nice after you. It'll be called Natural Wonder and completely organic.

Wow, well I appreciate the compliment. I am just here to help others. I can say that she still looks to be getting some stretch to her. See if you can get those lights a tad closer. Get out the measuring tape and just double check your light to plant distance. Cfls dont give off much heat at all. I have seen plants that were under a inch a way, and get no burn. However, I wouldnt recommend that at this point. But, I would say you are safe with 1-2 inches max.

Lol, Growy McGrowerson....its got a nice ring to it. Good to see you have a creative bone in ya! Grow baby Grow!!
Pretty soon she will be up and due for a transplant into a bigger and better pot. Id make sure to bury a greater majority of that meristem. Id go up to the first set of true leaves( just past water leaves) just to make sure she is stable. Bong to You!!!

Moved it up an inch, it's about 2 inches from the lights now, the ends and edges on the lowest living leaves are turning yellow (not the first two rounded leaves but the first two serrated leaves.)

I don't know, I wasn't paying attention but congrats on your sprout!

I'm also not going to talk about plant care, lights, temperature or anything else for other people untill I know more about this whole growing process. I caught myself trying to be helpful and if the person had of followed my advice he would have blowed himself to bits.

So back on the topic of Potty, the new-ish leaves are all light green with dark veination, the lowest set of serrated leaves are yellowing on the tips and edges and where Potty wasn't reaching for the light before, it is now.

Any ideas on what's wrong?

With due respect, it is okay to ask questions, but this is not the thread for it. This is another guys thread/journal for his grow. Moreso, there is a wealth of knowledge on this website. I recommend you do some research first, and then if you cant find what you are looking for, just put up a posting asking your questions on a new thread.

The yellowing is probably a Nitrogen def. If you could get a pic I might be able to make that conclusion. Ifso, I can give some advice as to what to do about it. Some may fit your budget, some may not. Bongs to You.

I snapped off some more pictures (i'll post after they transfer from the phont to my email) none of the pics show what I thought was a '-N' (nitrogen deficiency) and all the leaves look like healthy leaves again.

is this normal for the first plant to scare the hell of a first time grower?

I'm sorry for over reacting about every little thing, I just want this plant to be the best it can be with as much help as I can give it (hence why I came here)

After moving it back up so that it was two inches from the lights, I had to move it back down today (how fast can this thing grow?) when I measured today it had grown another full inch and was only 1 inch from the light, it's no longer reaching so after moving it back down to the two inch mark I gave it a stern talking too and told him if he burns himself it's his own damn fault.

Potty is also back on the 24h schedual because the timer I have is a dud, it doesn't work at all.

(pics stil arn't in so i'll check back in a bit and post them then)

The timer was an old analog, single plug with pins used to adjust the start and stop times, what I dodn't know was it was broken (pin pegs broke off in the peg holes) and the timing feature (the units ability to keep time) was completely non functional.

Oh well, live and learn and considering I haven't spent more than 20 bucks in total so far I think Potty is doing amazing as a teaching aid.

As for loving him/her to death, I'm currently playing the part of a neglectful father...I.E.....I check her twice a day for bugs or new bug damage, keep an eye on the temp when I remember and otherwise leave it the hell alone. I didn't like my mom checking on me and helping me every 5 minutes back when I was a toddler so I didn't figure Potty needed me around all that much.

The first of several pictures have arrives (hours later)

top 7-6.jpg

This is the latest top pic, the size is bigger(maybe why it's taking so long?)

You can see from this the yellowing of the lower leaves and there's a dark purple climbing the stem(not shown) from what i've read this could be the start of a -N situation (added indicators were the yellowing tips and edges I seen yesterday)

I've got a few more pics on the way to show what I mean.

Well hot diggity do, look at you brotha! She has done a 360 for sure. keep her going. Bump for you, as well as A BIG FAT BONG!!

P.S. Thanks for all the compliments. Not that I am perfect, but I feel that you are, in a sense, my apprentance. I promise to be always honest, and if there is something I dont know, I will say it. I am glad to share the exp. of this grow with you and all that you have learned from it. Its an idea to overgrow, and it starts with teaching people how to cultivate correctly. I am a Botanist. I earned a Masters Degree in Botany ( Plant Biology), which is alot different, but yet very similar to Plant Cultivation ( Agriculture). I have alot of knowledge when it comes to Cannabis Cultivation. I do it for a living, and I have learned alot along my years that I wish to share with the world.

Oh, by the way, I dont really recommend digital timers in conjuction with CFLS. Actually most Digital Timers actually recommend that you dont use them with in conjuction with CFLS. I actually use a analog when my gurls are under T5 fluros for indoor veg. However, I may not have that entirely accurate. I am sure there are people who do. Maybe something for you to research. I would, but I have a field to tend to at current days moment. :)

Your a freaking Botanist? Well slap my ass and call me Charlie (again, not my real name).

At some point in the future I hope you come to my great white northern location so you can sample Potty, I never plan on completely harvesting her(I think it's a her, she gives me bitchy vibes and tells me to wipe my feet). From a biologocal point of view is it possible to keep her in flower forever with selective minor harvests and let the plant continually grow? Sealing each cut wound(small harvests) I give her so there's no infections, and trimming off the dead stuff?
