HELP WITH BALLAST, please

this ballast came in the mail today with my two lights. its a 100w hps ballast. now wtf do i do?? if anyone could tell me how to wire it/ whatever im supposed to withit.

That type of kit you have to put together yourself. I suggest searching for a electronics forum and seeing how they do it. It's not hard at all but for someone who has to ask, you might want to see how the pros do it.

i also have a 100w cfl bulb that can fit a normal socket, but wont light up. do i need a ballast for this one too?

cfl have a built in ballast , so no it does not need a separate ballast

is it just broke than? i can hear something loose, rolling around inside it. is this why it wont light up?

he's a master spark and will know what to do. google it, it's not that hard

um those are fairly easy to wire, get some grommets, plastic cap looking thingies with metal threaded inserts in them and follow the instructions on the transformer. should take 10 minutes or less if you have any electrical background...

I've wired all my ballasts, and they're fairly easy. There's plenty of diy's out there too.

Wire nuts? never heard them called that before. Usualy It's a grommet, maybe us Canadians are just wierd

Yeah I say grommet too, its moot. And if something is rolling around in your cfl that means it's broken (and obviously if you plug it in and it doesnt light up )

eh it might not be unusable.. ive used a pc bulb for months that had something "rolling around inside" but it is abnormal, so if you can return it do it... I did and got a new bulb fo free
