Florida Growers Thread

calling in from the 239, just found this thread today. Growing outdoors, just completed first harvest from plants started in March. They didn't get huge, but got 3.5 oz of nice buds from WW's. Have some bag seed plants still growing that have reverted to veg.

Yes, it will take a long time. The ww's budded out nicely and matured well, but the bag seeds only produced small buds and then went back into growth mode. I don't know if they will ever produce much now. I took a sample of the small buds last week, dried them and tried some yesterday. Total couch lock, so I went ahead and cut the tops off them and hung them to dry this morning. I left quite a bit of the plant in the ground, so I am hoping they will start to grow again, but I really doubt it. The ww's that I trimmed the buds off of just died even though I tried my best to baby them. I am set to go out of town next week for an extended stay, so I figured I would get what I could off them now. I have several plants that I planted recently that haven't shown sex yet. Unless they do before I leave, I guess I will just let them go until I get back and see what happens. If they produce anything, I'm sure it will be seedy, but oh well, better than nothing.

Could be worse. I honestly don't think I've ever bought bud that didn't have seeds in it. I'm excited to grow my own that doesn't and see what the difference in THC levels is all about.

Well, the investment has been minimal, and since i have no money and transportation, this is really my only option. I have attempted to gro before, with some sucess, but i realize that untill i can one day pour enough money in HIDs... spending money on CFLs and experimenting with building boxes and etc seems to be pretty pointless. I dont havethe proper facility to set up a real gro inside or enough money to fund one.

The sun is free. I f I could grow outdoor, as many people do, why not indoors with natural light? Does a window really make that big a diff? I mean outside its not like any plant recieves absolute direct su all day unless its in the middle of like a grassland plain..... or on a freaking savannah....

As far as moving the plant, time schedule is not an issue at all, and honestly I dont really care if its a herm, you can still smoke herm buds, if they bud. Hoenstly, the thing might be male, who know>?

Im not looking to get bashed here or told im an idiot because honestly ive stood in rooms far more sucessful than anything you've ever set up. I know exactly what id need to do to pump out a commercially significant quantity.

That isnt what Im trying to do.

It sucks balls that when you come to a forum like this with a question, all you get are people bashing you telling you that THIS is how too get max yeild, blah blah blah. We cant all afford to do that. and if we wanted to know how to do it, there are plenty of old posts we could look up. Thats the reason so many new people are always asking the same questions, and why you have to spend hours searching different forums all over the web to get info relitave to your own situation....

Because wehn you describe what your doing, usually the first reply is, "hey, totally forget it, your doing it absolutely wrong and this other way is the only way."
What I am doing is trying to use what minimal cash and materials I have left to my name, to produce what I realize will be minimall crop.

To anyone who skimmed this or my first post, and missed this detail, I already know about using CFL's and HID's. At this time due to cost, it is entirely unreasonable.
Due to possible discovery any outside growing is not an option.

I know the first jackass reaction is gonna be to reply "well then your not ready to grow."
But I have this possible girl. Ive already thought about all the stupid stuff like with moving it to the dark having to keep the photoperiod consistant.... DONT WORRY about me having to do alot of work, ok?... its gotten quite nice and tall and healthy with the shady light cycle it had been recieving. I dont want to just tear it up and throw it out....

SO... Ill ask again...
ANYONE IN FLORIDA HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH WINDOW GROs ?

ps I currently know of two aquaintances doing time for "guerilla growing..." a pretty retarted idea in one of the most conservitave states in the union... I mean, as I stated in my original message, I came inside in the first place due to that fear, and its not as if she were in fully exposed direct line of sight sunlight... so......

Very cool - is it something you ordered online or a friend sent it to you? (Sorry to pry, but my source dryed up, so until I finish growing, I need to go find somewhere new to go. Ugh)

Window grows are bad. I know im being the jackass that says your not ready to grow but if the only way you can afford to grow a plant is by putting it on a windowsill ... then you need to

1.Stop growing
2. get a job
3. get cfls
4. continue growing.

Thats a custom recipe for success from me ... for you.

Then check out those air-pots in his sig - those things are sick and they seem to seriously increase size/yield.

both potency and yield will be affected by lack of light.

i cant think of a good analogy but growing is a hobby. hobbies are expensive. Some people use cfls and cardboard boxes. As a result, these people are able to keep overhead to a minimum. Some people spend more and buy expensive HID lights, Fans, Reservoirs, ect. many people decide to grow outside seeing as the sun is the MOST powerful HID ever. The cost here is minimal as well, probably cheaper than the cfl route and you dont have to worry about electricity bills.

then you come along.

You cant go either of the two cheap routes and obviously cant afford the expensive route so youve decided your going to grow a plant on a windowsill? i mean ... im not trying to bash at you. But if youve stepped in growrooms rooms far more sucessful than anything I've ever set up ...

then maybe you could understand why what your trying to do is almost laughable. I dont consider myself a big time grower or an authority on every method of growing, But ive done my research. Sill growing is for the birds. your trying to take a "growing shortcut". You cant come on here and get pissed off when people bash your idea when MOST peopl on this site have invested thousands of dollars on their ops. If sill growing worked even KINDA good ... a lot more people would be doing it. Because it would be cheap as hell. The thing is ... it doesnt.

i have THREE PLANTS and ive spent 3k on the op im on right now. Cfls can get it done for under 50 bucks. If you cant afford to do it right then you shouldnt be growing period. Grow your plant as an experiment but dont expect to get good bud or to get high yield. if you cant invest a few bucks on proper lighting then obviously you are not serious about what your starting. other people are being nice telling you to try it out , im being realistic.
