How to induce a plant to grow taller?

Hi RIU
I am currently growing 2 autoflower strains which are quite short and at day 18. I knw this may be normal but I wanted to know if there was any way of making them grow upwards.
maybe less hours of light? am using 20/4 but could use 18/6
maybe different nutes? am using NPK 10-4-2 at low concentrations and diluted milk/honey
different light spectrum? Im using a blue 125W cfl and a 200W HPS double spec as close as I can to the plants.
Any suggestions?
thanks in advance!

your growing auto's, they are what they are

that aside you could raise your lights to induce stretching

note that adding far infrared spectrum to your grow would also induce more stretching but adds heat

Its an auto bubble candy and a lowryder #2. Actually they aren't that bad, its only day 18.... What I have done though is fimmed one of them
The FIM isn't in the pics, but I did it to the bigger plant as I want them to advance at the same pace. It's the auto bubble candy.

the HPS is directly above the plants...I thought having the CFL there helps in giving light to the hidden leaves. Plus its much easier to have it resting on the pots hehe.

I can't buy another lamp....doesn't HPS give infra-red?

I don't know if anyone has already said this.. but if they have I apologize.

But, usually the rule of thumb.. to get bigger and taller plants.. is to use bigger pots. The more room the roots have.. to expand and grow... the taller and bigger the plant will get.

Just thought I would throw in my knowledge too..

good luck.

By trimming some leaves at the bottom of the plant you can force is to grow upwards. When you lollipop, the plant will want to stretch a bit.

The pots are very big in comparison to the plants so i dont think that is the problem.
Actually to be honest I do think now that there is no height concern at all...and that it's natural for them to grow taller over the next 2 weeks. They are still young.
But thanks for the advice anyways.
Maybe you would like to check the pictures that I have put up a few posts ago and tell me what do you think about height?
thanks in advance again

Well I just fimmed one of the plants so I think thats enough stress for now. I will trim as soon as there is enough to trim, for now I only have 4 sets of well established leaves.
