Is Polycarbonate ok for greenhouse grow.

i am about to convert the shed into a greenhouse.

I have chosen white polycarbonate for the roof and sides, it lets in 55% of the light. is this enough light hitting the plants? it also says its 99.9% uv safe. So im assuming it blocks out UV rays is this a bad thing?.

Ive seen white ones covering green houses for years. Clear ones get very hot.
Put it on the top an south side for best light.
The uv block will be good, an cut some of the heat., My CFLs emit no UV, no biggie.
