yep definitely depends on the type of light....

if cfls....a few inches

if hps/mh....a few feet then bring it in until your plant tell you that is just right

I am still a newbie, but i think You want the most amount of light possible on your plants. The closer they are the more light they get. But you dont want to burn your plant. Make the judgment yourself by feeling the heat. and placing the light where u see fit.

If im wrong ill let a pro grower hammer me down, otherwise Enjoy my comment! hehe

hope they grow big! Best of luck

I don't think it matters if those first 2 round leafs turn yellow and fall off, but if your main leafs turn yellow, u would usually have a heats issue or that you dont have enough (N) part of your N,P,K nutrient.

Get ride of that tin foil get some fat white paint
tin foil makes hot spots
I think they might be right, it might cause heat issues. But mainly it looks terrible and un-neat. then again its your grow, you can do as you please :)

ive got a 400w MH about 8-10 inches from my plants, but Im moving quite a bit of air over them, I had it far away but they started to stretch... its all gonna be about your heat with cfl's your gonna want to be close... last grow I did but never finished I vegged with a 60w cfl about 2 to 3 inches from my plant the whole time but there again, I wanted alot of air movement, its just generally more healthy for the plants...
