So i finally got to see my friends plant that has been growing since the END OF AUGUST. I expected to see a fully flowering sativa. I see this: a 1.5' tall, skinny ass little plant. Its been living under two 15w flouro tubes, and no fan. The tubes were 2'+ above the plants. It has been undr 12/12 lighting for some time, with no sign of budding, but it does appear to be female.
Immediately, I set out to help him. I got two more lights in there, both 23w CFL's, and he has two more to get in there. I got a fan on the plant with a light breeze to encourage stem strengthening. I also transplanted the plant into a pot. The dirt it was in was crap, from lowes with sand and rocks in it. The dirt I moved it into is part peat moss soil, part perlite, and part scotts potting soil. I also advised him to move the lights much closer (which we did) and put the plant back into 24 hour lighting. When transplanting it, the plants entire root structure was no larger than a tennis ball, and the dirt was extremely compact. The dirt it is in now is nice and fluffy, and I am hoping to have some nice root growth now that it is getting more light.
I was also thinking... would it be better to cut the top off of the plant, and cloning it?
Heres the pics:
