Just found out my Neck is broken...

So ive been having alot of neck and back pains the past couple of weeks, Thought i just pulled a muscle... Went to the doctor and the dumb bitch just gave me a script for lortabs and muscle relaxers, said i was having muscle spasms.. Dr. didnt take any xrays, just fuckin sent me on my way.. Well the pain just kept getting worse and worse, was to the point where i would have to take 4 500mg tabs every few hours. Went to a spine specialist and got xrays and an mri... Turns out my fuckin neck is fractured.. If i wouldnt have gone to the specialist my spine would have healed fucked up and id be a gimp forever..

I fucked up my back years ago and all they did was throw drugs at me in the U.S. I moved to Japan for work and went to a doctor there. He put me in therapy and told me to stop taking all of the drugs. I got traction treatments for a couple of months and the pain went away completely. I still have to get traction on my spine occasionally, but it's definitely livable and I'm not all screwed up on pills all the time. When will American medicine stop over-prescribing pills and actually address the problem?

Thats awesome man! For some reason i do have alot more faith in most eastern meds, for some reason i just feel they actually help solve problems, not create temporary fix's.. This is exactly why their is such a big problem with addictions to pain killers in our country, you get someone that gets some sort of injury and they just dope ya up and before you know it your hooked.. Problem is most people that are addicted dont think they can be because its "doctor" prescribed..

Well i broke the 7th vertebre down, i knew it was fucked up and told the doctor i could feel it popping and it hurt hella bad. She just said it was "muscle spasms" my back kept hurting and popping so i figured i better get an expert to look, he gave me xrays and an mri and found it.

I love my family doctor, been knowing the guy practically my whole life, he's one of the good ones I guess you could say... he'll fix you right and prescribes those kinds of pills as a last resort (I've never been prescribed any sort of opiate).

But yeah, when it's your neck that's hurting... or anything vital/important hurting, go to a specialist for that area of the body... don't go see a GP.

^your lucky man my family doctor used to be the same way but he retired and i havnt exactly established a new primary doctor yet, i think opiates should always be prescribed as a last resort, if it was we probably wouldnt have the addiction to pain pills that we do today..
