i pretty much wanna call it lst'ing, but when you feel the snap...... The healed wound looks like the fat part on a worm. Plus I don't wanna completely open a gaping hole in my plant. I've done true supercropping before, I always feel sad.

No need to feel sad. I think the real key to SC is timing. As with all techniques. You want the branch to be as big and healthy as possible, but not so old to be hollow yet. But even if it is already hollow and you end with an open wound in your plant. Sad, yes. All lost, no. But at that point your efforts to gain yield may be offset by the stress you caused the plant. You live and learn. Its just your plants that sometimes dont make it! LOL Anyways heres the healed wound.

word. I can't be the first to use it, but pinch till you feel the crush, then twist till it leans over, then it will straighten itself to the light and I've never noticed any negative effects on the main cola, but definately positive side branching. in my album the branch thats just sticking out from nowhere is the result of my first experiment. I didn't even crop the main branch, again i didn't want to be sad, but wanted to practice a little low stress cropping if you will.

So has fimming been discussed yet. I saw it in your opening post, then not too much on it i don't think? Help me if im wrong, its the process of leaving just a little of the top node when topping. My guess is, to not completely remove auxins from the plant which will spur the new growth.

Havent gotten there yet. But we will once we have some plants to work with. Actually get back to the original purpose of this thread. We should have some actual plants to work with by the end of the month. Little roots starting to pop from our clones. They should all be in the dirt by the middle of the week. The first batch that is. And the Lemon Skunk that was the first plant involved here. Well, its getting the boot! As with most mutant plants. They either grow oddly strong or sadly weak. This one appears to have sad genes. Off to the compost pile.

what up???? hey i had a question. Is it ever too late to LST? Can I pull the main cola off to the side with my ladies havin 2 weeks left? Havin a lil heat issue.

Heres are two pics of that experiment or technique I was telling ya bout where i kinda cropped. Low stress and still produced significant branching, and able to heal quickly and stand right back up. coon hound.jpgIMG_1708.jpg

I would say abit too much nitrogen and also some overwatering stress has slowed them down some. Thats what the pics are saying to me.
they are in hydro and i have been jackin the nutes way up. per gallon i have. 2 tsp Flora micro, 2 tsp flora bloom, 2 tsp KoolBloom, and 2 tsp calmag. That is the general hydroponics. do you think i should just give em straight water for a while. i can tell that they are thickening up and its gettin more orange hairs every day. its my first plant and was bagseed. im not sure what to do at this point.

I am not an expert in hydro. But I would say just plain water and a touch of koolbloom from here on out. If you jacked them as much as it looks. Water them and watch the trichs. edit: my bad on the overwatering. Since your hydro. Thats points even more in the direction of, well, you know...

Decided to wait a few more days before cropping the bucket. Really circumstances did. In the orange bucket. Before pictures. Wet and water logged. Lots of rain, been outside. But the extra few days of veg should pay off. Heres the before pics. Give me a 1/2 hr or so. Then I will post the after.Picture 006.jpgPicture 008.jpgjournal 012.jpg

Its all open now. Let see what a couple of weeks of recovering can do. No matter what style you choose to grow. Its all about patients and the veg. Or is it the veg and patients? And you have too jump in 'head first' sometimes. After shots:

Here is a quick update on the plant super-cropped about a week ago. And also finally got one of the new 400 watt Ceramic Metal Halides. Very excited to try it out. Just check out the spectrum. cmhvshps.jpgjournal 170.jpg I think I will try it out on this plant. Here it is now about a week later.journal 202.jpgjournal 206.jpgI have never done a scrog grow. But at this point, have the plants vertical growth under control. Why not build a screen and grow horizontal for a few more weeks? Maybe try and fill a 40x40 inch square. Flower with the 400 CMH and see how close to a gram a watt we can get.
And still have not even 2 clones to start evenly enough to do a side by side. (4 would be best. but would settle for 2 too start!) I want at least two to start. I am going to be pretty picky about this. Want it as even as possible. I will do my best to keep something going for you to check out until then. Also here is a pick of 'mom', this plants mom. Her days are over. journal 188.jpg Let the slow death begin.:peace:

Just a quick update on the LST Orange Bud. About 2 weeks into flower. I allowed one section to grow up a bit. It is in a corner the farthest from the light. Well actually by letting it grow up the entire canopy is within a few inches of each other. As far as the distance from the light goes. journal 238.jpgjournal 240.jpg
