Question about grow tents

I am going to be growing in a small apartment that can't be altered to much on the inside as far as hanging lights and the like so my question is this...

Does a grow tent give you a place to hang lights inside or will I need to get something to hang them from? I have a spot in my closet that should be big enough and I could mount the lights there but the inside is not very reflective and I can't really paint the closet walls a good color.

I suppose I could just buy a bunch of foil and line the closet walls with aluminum foil.

One other question, what are grow tents made with?

i second ludicium, google it and you will find out. Tip of advice though... seems as if you maybe growing in rented accomodation, be very careful of landlord not finding out.

Grow tents suck. Just double mylar the room and use light stands instead of hanging lights. (Think of a floor stand holder that goes over a table).

Good luck in week 5-8 of flowering though, you'll probably get a knock on the door from a guy with a badge. Apartments are terribly poorly built for the most part, and their ventilation can share buildings. It'll smell, so be prepared.

I am not that worried about odor because I am only going to grow for me, one plant at a time, and I'm only going for short autoflowering strains. Plus I use a ton of incense in my apartment when I have no smoke, so I just don't think the smell will get powerful enough to notice.

LMAO Grow tents dont suck!!! And if you had one set up right you could grow next door to the guy with the badge and he would never know.

Wow harsh man, I've got a tent that I love! It's not that bad plus it's portable and more easily controlled temp wise...

i have a growtent as well and through my first grow which wasnt that great but with the carbon filter fan combo and ducting to the window my house smells fresh now.I cant go back now and hopefully the yields will go back up seeing as it was my first attempt in there with a few learning curves along the way.

Yes, most have crossbars to hang lights, fans, carbon filters, etc. You will need to buy the bunjis, chains, ratchets, etc.

And don't waste your time or money on tin foil. Its been tested and proven practically worthless. Same goes for mirrors. Plus your setup will most likely end up looking like ass cancer. Go buy a pint of flat white paint, it costs under $10 and you can always repaint. If its just a closet it should only take a few minutes to repaint anyways!

Most grow tents are made of synthetic fabrics or canvas. Some are white inside, some are reflective.

i'm not in an apartment but i wanted a light tight section of my grow room to flower in. i saw a nice looking secret jardin tent at the local hydro store which was everything i wanted or needed. %100 reflective lined, numerous seal-able holes for ventilation and ducting, crossbars for hanging lights and fan but most importantly it was solidly constructed. it saved me from having to build my own room (and more than likely more than one headache) and i didn't have to drill holes in the ceiling to hang my lights, fans and carbon filter. i never had to worry about light leaks either. it cost me $400 for the 4'x8' tent and i haven't regretted spending that money for a minute. it saved a lot of time and effort that i was able to devote to other areas of my grow.

and if i feel the heat around the corner, it can be torn down in less than 10 minutes and packed away in its carrying case.

grow tent FTW

Do NOT underestimate the smell of even one plant in full flower mate. Get a carbon filter or look into some sort of diy odour control. I wouldnt trust incense either. But pehaps with a 'low odour' strain coupled with your incense n stuff you may get away with it. Im not expert, but i know i wouldnt chance it.
Kill the smell, dont mask it. Better safe than sorry thats all im saying.
Also depends on how big your going to let this one plant get. One large plant with alot of budding will smell just as much as a few small plants id imagine.

i've seen two plants in full flower make a 3,500 sq foot house absolutely reek. just buy a carbon filter so you can sleep at night
