I bought a portable air conditioner at home depot. Its the ones you add water into. It seems to make the room very humid. Do the aqua chillers do the same thing ? I need to know so i can take it back and buy a aqua chiller

not sure the one you are talking about, but air conditioners usually DRY out the air. Ever been in a hotel room with an air conditioner? The water drips outside, and the room gets all dry and hurts your eyes, dry boogers in the morning etc. Id get a different one for sure

Sounds like you got what most people would call a SWAMP COOLER. Probably around 100 bucks....... A majority of portable ACs have dehumidifiers built in.. After summer is always a good time to look for portables, A good deal is probably around 350 for a 500-600

Sounds about right.

OP, how can you not know the difference between a swamp cooler and an A/C? Add water? That right there would set off an alarm to me.

Id Take it back and Beef up your Vent System with the cash. Only after you get the proper CFM you'll know if you need an AC.
For you extra humidity... i just bring a giant pack of Paper Towls (Because they are super dry) and open the top lol it works about %10 out of the room...
