How do i setup 6inch inline fan?

My closet is too hot from CFLs. I want to exhaust the hot air into the attic. Can somebody explain in as much detail as possible how to set this up? How much duct, where does fan go, how to hook up fan, anything else?

impossible to give an answer without knowing more about your closet. it could be as simple as sticking the fan in an existing vent opening to as complicated as cutting through the ceiling and routing ducting around obstacles.

is there an existing vent in the closet anywhere (floor, wall or ceiling)? if so, where does it go?

if not, is the closet directly below the attic you want to vent into?

Sry about that. There is no vent. So im going to have to cut a hole in the ceiling.

Thanks. But where do i put my fan? In the attic or hanging at the top of my ceiling?
