Again caught up in the "Topping/Fimming/Pruning Fan leaf whole debate. Dont trim that branch. Leave that fan alone. Guess you get my point.
And to add or subtract from this debate I have something to offer. Heres a pic of a sprout about 3 weeks from germ. Best part of it is. Cots, first single leaves and branches. One node. From there its just a stem and three leaves. Cool huh? Getting long winded. Heres the pic. Still have a week or so before cloning the two sites. This gives us times to debate on how to top/grow them. I am thinking it will be about as close to a side by side comparison you can get. Least in a forum that is. Input welcome and looking forward to all of your thoughts.:peace:

firstly transplant her or shes going to run out of root room and it'll be bad. cuz shes growing good :) but if i was u forget topping. Bend her so much better for a young sprout what u do.
Carefully pull down the branches of your cannabis plant, or the whole plant, tye them down. You are now forcing them to grow horizontally. the nodes will start producing branches or buds that grow straight up. Bending should be done gradually to avoid pinching or snapping the stem. Use soft hemp string or cloth to secure the branch or stem loosely when tying down to minimize damage to the soft stems. Growth is slowed for awhile as the cannabis plant adjusts to the shock of being bent. This is a good technique to maximize space in a small grow room

Thanks for checking my journal. She is not even close to being ready to transplant. Only a couple of weeks old. I am not going to LST. I am going to clone each side. Should be able to get a couple of plants from each branch. Then going to do a side by side grow. Using different topping methods. So we can compare the different yields obtained using the different methods. See which one comes out on top. Pun intended.

Scribed for sure. I am following the dessertRat/UB slugfest also. This is the way it should be done. Instead of shunning a method, try it out and report.

Whats up Doc? Welcome. And to update. I will taking some clones from a few other strains today. Cole Train, Diesel, and Sharksbreath. Hope to get at least a nice matching quad from each to add to this experiment. Hope to have at least 3-5 strains for this. 1 untopped, 1 topped per one of Bens methods. 1 toppped per Rats method. And 1 yet unknown. Maybe we will be Lst'ing one after all. Its between that and Supercropping. I am going to do my best too make it as unbias and equal as possible. Also I think I am going to get setup to flower them outside under the sun. That way there should be no debate about where plant placement under the lights when it comes time for weigh in. Any other suggestions about ways to keep it fair are welcome. Happy Trails for Now.........

These are the gals that will be involved in our little twist. 1st pic is just a group shot. 2nd is of the plant opening this journal. Then left to right, in the black pots. Querkle clone. May be a week or so before gettinjournal 002.jpgg clones here. Sharksbreath seed. Just a few days. 3rd Amnesia Lemon clone. I know this pheno to strecth when topped. I journal 014.jpghave never grown one out un-toppped. 4th Cole Train seed. Will take 4 this evening. 5th Diesel seed. A day or so before journal 011.jpgharvesting clones. Orange Bud clone. I have had this plant around for a few years now. Its one of my personal favorites.journal 007.jpg
