Hey cool man thanks 4 droppin in and thanks 4 the tips I'm gonna check out ur grow in a little bit. I'll also look into the fan idea's. U mean not really an intake fan but just a fan pushin air in that direction from the back toward the bottom? I noticed a difference when i set a big fan by the A/C pointing at my box
i meant actually cuttin a port in the bottom of the box and attatching a fan to blow cold air il the box. u might be thinkin whats the difference because a fan inside the box blowin hot air out, is suckin cold air in. but the fan inside has a motor and that motor puts off heat along with all the other electrical stuff in there. so 100% of that heat is inside the box. so the fan you have is either not pulling cold air into the box very well (bottom up or vise versa) or its not powerful enough to keep up with the speed at which the temperature is rising. so an external fan at the bottom will push nothin but room temp air in the box while the top fan would pull the air up through the box and out the back. and to get around the light issue, to the hole in box, you can take and attach somethin like an elbow facing down thats painted black inside to keep light from reflecting or you could use i vent cover. like the one thats outside your house that is attatched to your clothes drier.

I'm thinking with a bigger fan on bottom I won't need so many passive intakes. What I did was hold my hand over the exhaust and close the door. Well the air flo would cut way down so I'd drill another hole until I was happy with the amount of air commin out the exhaust. I put that little fan in after all that.

im a newbie at growin stuff but as far as designin things i got a little experience. made all kinds of stuff. in prison we had rat problems (go figure) and long story short some people bet that i couldn't make a mouse trap that worked. Before it was over i had a Little debie box decked out with a trap door and an indicator light that came on when one was in the box. (light was taken out of a Exit Sign). we got 5 mice that night. needless to say i won that bet. guess thats kinda why i like steel work. its easy to build with and very forgiving. the coolest project i was ever involved with is hands down, the dome for the new dallas cowboy stadium. that thing is somethin else.

im confused. so the fan in the pic is on bottom of the box right. and it is blowing air in the box. you say you have one in the top of the box also that is blowing air out?????? hmmmmmm well if thats so then it was option B. your fan just isn't powerful enough to exchange the air fast enough.

that is definatley a pretty good size wooden box. and wood insulates pretty good. so it will take a little umph to change out that volume of air.

Cool man thanks for the help I can tell by your box u got some skills. Cowboys stadium is nice what did u do on it? I have my temps averaging 82 -83 so I think my babies can handle that for now. The real trick will be getting both hps 70s on together. Right now I can only use one of the hps but I used about 100 true watts of cfl's also and I think it's plenty for what I'm growin but I'd like to have more.

me and alot of other people worked on building the trusses for the dome and outside of the building.. spent 2 solid years on that project.

I see you decided against the screen, I think that's a good decision in this case. She looks really short and compact, I know you'll get at least somethin off that plant :)

Hairs starting to come in now too, that's a good sign! It may be your camera, but it looks like you have about the same amount of crystals as I do and I'm about week 4 into flowering. Goes to show differences in genetics.

Yeah I think she's going to produce some pretty dank nug assuming I keep treating her right. No need 4 the screen since I flowered early :wall: I do c at least 6 maybe 8 bud sites so we'll see.

lookin good man! from prison to bondage, lol think u got a patten showin :-)
Yep the only way out is thru my pipe.

You'll have more than 6 or 8 I'm sure :)

Just remember that anywhere you see a node or leaves coming out of a stem..there will be flowers there. Unless you have a larger plant and those bottom ones don't see much light.

With my plant, even halfway down the main stem where there isn't much light there are tons of flowers wherever leaves are coming out. Every plant I've seen also is the same way.

your design is spot on, do not add any fans for intake. Negative pressure is the key, when you force intake it will increase temps as the air is trying to escape, pull the air thru the cab, do not feed it. channeling your ac towards the cab is good, and lends to being pulled thru the passive intakes, in fact if you were to do anything take out the fan intake and stack it to one of the exhaust fans.

positive pressure is the key ... you dont want more air going in then whats going out nor do you want not enough air coming in and to much going out. For example i have 435 cfm going out and 235 cfm coming in which is only half but one igs hooked into my vent to pull central air in and blown underneath my aeroflo to bring enough in without it the air gets dry and warms up to fast because the little bit of air coming in without intake is small amounts and warms up faster. So if you do go with an intaje go for about half what your outake is itll get the rest of the air in other ways but its not always enough. So intakes are needed. But your plants are lookinggood.

your passive intake is too small if you need to feed it, unless it is a sealed room or a passive exhaust...

the room gets air through cracks in the door and closet etc that works as a passive intake. but its not enough without pulling air in if the door is closed if its open its not an issue. and yes positive pressure is the key. lol. positive good negative bad....
