Ninj thats is in the photo. That little wooden box is all i am capable of. It was an old dresser that i cut up and drilled back together with brackets. I found it by the side of the road.

Yer i understand that.....but from your experiences you got any good sites or "connections" worth looking into?
@Rock: seems how you appear to grow with CFL how have your yields been?....People seem to be quite fixed on HPS but my understanding is the hippies back in the 70's-80's did quite fine without them?

i can pickup a brand new 400 hps for $150 at my hydro store , so your only really looking at about 200-250 bucks for a setup , or just use soil.

your only looking at about 70cents a day for a 400 hps , or even less depending on your light hours, i hate growing with cfls because you need 1 powerslot per globe where as the yanks have y splitters and just stack them on eachother.

I have not got anything yet. I am hopeful this time round. If you can deal with the heat get a HPS. The buds i see from others with them are juicy.
The issue isnt the medium to grow in. Its the fact that on all the places i look while i can get a HPS for as low as $60 by the time i add the ballast to them (my understanding is you need special HPS ballast?) im looking into the $400 range.
hmmm...i calculated to be so much more than that based off an 18hour cycle.....maybe i cocked up somehwere. As for the CFL, im using the 4ft tubes not the compacts. While im sure comapcts work well in my head i just dont see how. Ive got all the space in the world to grow nice and stealthy like, its just i dont have the money to create a monster grow room.
If your able to could you post a link to the place your refering to for a decent price on HPS+anythign else needed to run them? Never considered using HPS so havnt really looked into how they run or the setup needed but im quite certain they need a special power supply called a ballast right? They run from $100-300 (depending on wattage) based off my research?
lol its a fairly typical "farmyard" tin shed about the size of a small house.....so heat buildup is no issue

$153 for a 400w HPS kit. I'm sure you could get it cheaper than that too. For $393 you could get a 1000w cool tube kit.

u dont need a special ballast , u just need the right ballast for your globe , but u can get ballasts which u can use MH with and other shit

that ballast is fine but for an extra 20 bucks u can get one that will work on both hps and metal halide bulbs

Hey BB. Yeah i plan to put the little lamps up front but my timer shut the lights off just as i finished setting up the back light. I will hook them up in the morning. Yes been on 12/12 for about 12 days or so. Cant remember exactly.
Ninj yeah i did see your post and tried to follow your instructions. How did i do? Ok have just seen the edit. Shit mate it took me like an hour to whip that up. The reason i made it higher was i figured it is still stretching so it may still be ok. I am going to leave it for a week or so and if the stretch stops i will get the saw out again.

Hey 8, the AI is doing well, seems to be responding well to the FIM. I will leave it be for a couple of days, and post some pictures then so the difference is more noticable..
She gets about 500mls of feed a day.. It's the same feed that i made up for the Screen Of Blue.

Check this out. A magnetic HPS ballast will run a MH bulb of equal or lesser wattage. In theory you could buy a standard HPS ballast and use a MH bulb for veg and the HPS bulb for flowering.
I'm too scared to try it myself though but I may rethink buying another MH ballast in the future.

Wat size pots are you using? If ur pots are quite large then u will get dry spots in ur soil, meaning the roots won't use up the whole pot & they will get prematurely root bound..
Time them for an even flood & c how long that takes.
