Ventilation Question - Please Help!!!

I'm currently running a 400w system inside a 2" x 3" grow tent. In order to control the temperature, I bought a 6" inline fan to exhaust the heat from my light. My grow tent is about 15 feet away from a window where I am exhausting the hot air.

My question is this....do I put the inline fan inside the grow tent, near the light and then push the air out the window with ducting? Or do I put the inline fan outside the tent, near my window and suck the air 15 ft though ducting? Basically, should I put the inline fan inside my grow tent or near the window? Thanks for your help!

sucking is more efficient but you don't want to over heat your fan by pulling in all that hot air from your light, just something to think about.

Put the fan as close as you can to the grow tent. The further away the fan is from your grow tent, the less air it will be able to suck out. If your fan is strong enough then run the ducting as far as you can, your fan should let you know how far you can run the ducting before you start losing pressure.

You'll lose pressure if you use collapsible ducting. Use solid surface ducting to maintain pressure.
