Help newbie with set-up and lights

First off HELLO EVERYONE
just joined the site and i am very new to this . just started my first babies. Some mids bag seeds and one really good bag seed, Blueberry, i believe. I had a pre- existing florescent light fixture in my home.. so i moved it to where i am setting everything up. that is going to be my clone light ... i am following Todd McCormick's book "How To Grow Medical Marijuana" and doing the "Sea of Green" set-up (as he calls it, Dont really know if thats a real thing or not but i am choosing a mother and cloning it for a continious harvest.) I am really just trying to find One good female to start this set-up. If that blueberry turns out to be Female I am set. If it turns out to be male, I want to breed it with one of the clones from another female plant. I would just order seeds, but I am trying to be much more carefull these days. which brings me to my Problem

LIGHTS!!!!

Because i really just dont want suspicion of any kind.. I need advice on what is going to be less conspicuious.
i am thinking of doing one

hps blub

OR
2 or 3
Giant florcent bulb

I was going to keep them closer to the plants and lift them as needed ...

these are for the Flowering room only ... the mother room will get a MH blub or a Florescent
havent decided... open to suggestion i havent gotten to that point yet

I am really leaning to the florescents because of LESS energy useage raising LESS suspicion... but i am scared for the yeild.. cause my friend had a plant he grew didnt really take it to a serious level .. just got a jack herrer bag seed and planted it. turned out to be female and grew it in his bathroom and took it out side for sunlight. I am more serious about it than that . Help!?!?

Flourescents would be good and fine for your mother. You will not need her under a MH, it will cost more money. You will have a fastest enough growth rate under a flouro to keep a constant supply of clones. Then you can leave the cutting under the same light.

As for the flower room, you will be best off using an HPS. You will get better, fatter, denser yield. This is were you want to spend the extra money on parts, energy, and nutes.

You think the HPS bulb linked above will work ? if i needed more than that would it be more energy efficient to get another one or just get a higher wattage bulb ?

also trying to make this a good harvest ... any advice on nutrients or getto rigged exhaust .. i know there has to be someone else out there planing to or using a getto setup LOL i dont have the money right now for a exhaust setup .... maybe soon =D

The hps seems like a wise investment. You will not have a need for a ballast so this will save upfront cost as well as additional heat at the location of the ballast, typically outside the room. Good find.

How big is your grow area (for the quantity)?

Ummmmm Venting Ghetto, Ghetto Venting, hmmm

I am a budget/ghetto grower myself home skylet. j/k

I used little 6 inch inline duct fans from home depot like 25 bucks I think. You could get away with one fan for that wattage and quantity of lights. Just set the fan in the wall at the top and connect a duct to it, the other end connected to (or just above if no hood) the light and turn it on. It will pull the cooler air from the room by or through the light in turn cooling the light and exhausting/cooling the room.

Ghetto exhaust
google: stanley blower fan mod. Great info. You can buy a $50 Stanley blower and rip off the intake to mod to a exhaust hose. Pretty epic in my opinion and very easy.

LEDs, LEDs, LEDs I cannot encourage you enough to explore this new technology. low heat very low energy requirements, and man do these lights work!!! My friend ignore the nay sayers and give these a try, you won't be sorry Below I have posted pics of my plants which are just shy of 8 weeks old from the time I planted germinated seeds. I took some pics with normal light as LED pics show up pink ( included some for you to see ) These plants are under 2-120W LED panels ( which use approximately $185 in juice per year, and cost $150 per panel and need no ballast ) I know many people hesitate to try these as they are new, but if stealth is what you're looking for, LEDs are the way to go.Good luck whatever you decide.

Are your LED lights for flowering also?

Thanks for the responses guys .
just a few questions in response

But first

I have made a couple changes since i have talked on this thread last. I now have 2 giant florocesent bubls that have an output of 4200 lumens . plus the output of whatever the overhead bulbs are. i believe that the box says 2200 lumens i am assuming that is per bulb ...
so i am pumping 208 watts of Floro running roughly 12,800 lumens into my 3 foot area where the plants are currently residing.

I bought some Miracle gro fert made for roses ... closest to 20-20-20 i could find .. it is 15-24-18 i believe (but dont quote me on that) ... i could have bought some fert that was 10-10-10 but didnt know if it worked like that .. you guys think that this fert going to be okay ? the plants are doing healthy and flourishing since i started pumping more light into them .. i also changed the cycle from 24/7 to 16/8 still in veg ... trying to easy them into this kinda deal ... dont know if that is a good thing to do or not . but seems logical cause the sun doesn't automatically change . but i could be wrong. I just feel that plants would require down time to grow efficiently

I wont need a ballast for hps? this is the only thing preventing me from buying the hps cause i am only trying to buy stuff from local stores like homedepot or lowes. is there a way to rig a SAFE Hps system without a ballast ? i thought that hps need ballast in order to run ?

My attic is my grow area... i am sectioning off for the different rooms . I Bought some Black painters Plastic for like 8 bucks

Didn't know that you could even get growth with and LED light !? how many lumens are you getting for that and does it affect your yeild at all ? they seem a little small for 8 weeks ... mine are about that size and going into week 4
is this an effective method for adding Red Spectrum light to your area ... i have heard good things about mixing hps and MH .. but would the LED Get me the RED I lack with the floro spectrum ?

AWESOME !! but how loud is it ? i am probably going to do this as long as it isn't obnoxiously loud
