I'm liking the new cab Tamjam, I'm assuming you are planning to move out of the loft entirely when the HPS grow is finished?

I am halfway through flowering my first grow and have 2 clones and 3 seedlings in a 65w veg cab (which is the roughest, most ghetto and least stealth cab EVAR!) and am tempted to build a small 2 stage cab like yours so I could set up a small flowering chamber.

Like yourself I have realised early in my growing career that I don't want an industrial scale grow, just enough to keep myself in weed.

I was going to go for 2x65w 6400k for veg box and 2x85w for flowering box, side by side like your setup.

Don't get over-anxious about stretching seedlings, I thought mine looked like a disaster at first, but have since decided they are fine. They were quite stretched (by my standards) as they developed so I topped them and they look alright now.

mine is a pre made shelf/cupboard kind of thing, easy to pick up from second hand shops for cheap, then you got it already done for you.

your lighting set up sound good but depending on how cool you can keep it the more wattage the better really, once i get another intake fan fitted im planning on having nearly 200w in there and its only about 1sq ft.

and i know the seedling is fine in my first grow my ak's streched well bad, i will get a pic up in a bit.

hi dude, i had a look at that good stuff mate, never seen your grow and then just notice its in the introduse yourself bit lol i havnt really looked in there. i will keep my eye on it

the HPS is 250w which i have had fun using it, but i know that cfls are best for me in my situation. all i need is 14grams a month and i plan on doing that with around 150-200w of cfl's and with fuck all heat
like with the HPS.

You can always bury some of that stem later, don't worry about it, it'll stop

Re clones, well you can take cuttings at any stage and they will root, but I'd agree that a couple of weeks into flowering (or earlier) is the best time as the stems are still soft and the plants are still in that transitional stage before full flowering and they seem to root faster. Clones do need a bit of veg time after rooting ideally, but again you can chuck them straight into 12/12! Be good to see what you do with them.

Hows the lady in the loft? You going to let her go on for max yield?

cheers for clearing that up mate, im pretty sure them cuttings have rooted i gave them both a good tug and it started lifting out all the earth in the pot lol, i havnt worked it out yet but i will work out a kind of rota with the plants so i have a harvest every month, it should be easy as i can fit 6 5" pots in each box!!

as for the last one up in the loft, yep shes being let go to the last minute this will be my cough lock smoke and as i have a nice size stash theres really no point in chopping her down now, a few of ther hairs are now starting to red but she may go another two weeks to be completly done.

i dont know but shes deffo gonna get another week atleast, i will update her in a bit shes getting pretty fat now

It's just preflowering and there's already cloudy trichs on the stem!!!
Don't be surprised if some of the leaves form into hazard warning signs

I've got to say this SW is vigorous, its beating anything I have grown for a good while and knocked the crap out of the stately old Mazar! obviously more sativa in there but the SW genetics include a pure Indica Afghani father as I recall.

Re that 250HPS well I wouldn't give it up if it were mine! I'd veg in that cabinet and flower in the loft under the HPS. it will get too hot up there come summer I can tell you that from experience, I remember a few years back being up in my loft in August with a mate and we were both pouring with sweat, temps in there were 95! Even with fans pulling in outside air it was too warm outside to make a difference. But saying that I kept it going and it kept producing buds, but its far from ideal. I had a big fan blowing right through them close up but again it could only circulate the hot air. it was only really the very hot spells though that caused problems. Just something to bear in mind.

All looking great though and that beast in the loft is something to behold :-0

im sure you will love the SW it totally blows my head off, i think its a bit to rushy when its chopped early lol it hits you damn hard after a few minutes and after 30 mins turns in to a pretty heavy body stone and rush at the same time.

it really doesnt take much to get totally baked

as for the heat up in the loft i will worry when it happens, they will have to just put up with it.

i do love the atmosphere in the cfl section. in the indoor growing its more full of bigger more serious grows so it kind of makes little grows like mine look silly and no ones interested lol

yeah it sure does sound like you are overloading it all i have is a 12v dc power supply, im sure pc fans are 12v dc
