Ventilation question

Ive been growing one plant under a 150 watt HPS for about 5 weeks and was going to enter flowering but had a question about if my plant will be able to survive.. It is in a medium space in a closet with no door on it but sheet draping over and just a fan blowing on plants at the moment.. I was wondering if it will be able to survive in 85+ degree weather with this or is there something I can do because the room gets kinda hot at times 2nd floor.. Any help appreciated thanks

vent that box!! I had the same problem....my temps. were hittin 90...so i cut two holes... one in a corner of the bottom, then another on the opposing top corner(close to that hps...even though its only 150w it's still putting out alot of heat).... I got two computer fans.. and spliced the red and black wires of a 12v adapter..( two phone plugs were the key for me!!!) and then connected the red to the positive... black to the negative.... and placed a little electrical tape over the white.. then positioned one on the bottom sucking in cool air in and the one on top exhausting...(heat rises... cool settles..)....
this should solve your problem... i have a similar setup.. with one 150w hps and 4 26w 6500k cfls.... Hope this helps....GL

peace.

Thanks. But there is no door on the space just a hanging sheet so how would I put an intake/outtake fan without having something on front like a door.. 2 door closet that I took one door off and built a wood box separating the other half of closet and no top/front on it though.. So how would i cool something that isn't that enclosed? I think it may be more of a factor of if I can cool the room down opposed to the growspace? I just want these to flower and live anything helps guys thanks

yeah.. i didn't take that into consideration.... im on the second story as weel and i have a wall ac on set between 68-70.. that helps keep it cool..

Any idea if there is some kind of small a/c that can be bought and installed simply in a room for 100 bucks or so? And if so how much electricity that would use up on a monthly basis? thanks

I made a 6 inch hole in my ceiling in my closet where the ventilation exhaust is exiting from my 540 CFM inline fan, ventilation is extremely important.

Living in Seattle.. So the temp doesn't get ridiculous or anything but in recent summers its been getting hotter and on the second floor of house room gets hot when its hot outside.. Basically I am just looking for easiest way to ventilate room to get it okay for plants, 150watt doesn't put out too much heat its just more the room as a whole as opposed to growspace.. Any advice on how to cheaply/easily ventilate a room (Easier probably more important than cheaper) helps a lot thanks..

try a little window unit. I got a 5K unit for right around $100. get a sheet of aluminum faced foam board and some duct or ac duct tape and make an ac box like this

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=95491. if you make sure you follow the directions and make 2 seperate enclosures for front and rear as the diagram shows you'll be OK. Vent it good and it'll keep your area cool. I'm running a 600 hps in a 6x8 room and rarely get above 79 leaf level. chilly at lights out ~70*
