Foam those three that look sick didnt die because of not enough light. My opinion is the medium was too high in nutes or that they have been underwatered. They look like they have dried up pretty badly. They might bounce back. I wouldnt give up on them just yet. By the way with that amount of light you wont grow that many plants well. If the bad looking ones dont improve and catch up to the others it may be worthwhile just to kill em and focus the light you have on the remaining plants. I wouldnt start feeding them any nutes just yet. Good luck though.

I think there was no need to transplant, look how the other plants are loving this pot size (for now). My 2 crime suspects would be too much nutes or transplant stress. Good luck, man.

Okay so I went to Home Depot & spent another 100$ on building a auto veg / flower box, luckily I had plywood already. Just needed wood to build a basic frame. I drew the plans up already but I wanted to ask about the size pots I have. Do you guys think that these size pots will be good for doing autoflowers only, they are 2.38 liters?. The fast you guys reply back with the pot size being okay the fast I'll get started on my project, please reply back asap!

2.38 liter = 0.628729485 US gallons

I'm trying to decide on the width of the box based on the size pots I will be using, using these pots I would be able to fit a total of 8 in 20in. deep x 32in. wide. Here is a design that I drew on paper that I plan to use, I'll explain the box idea in detail below.

Haha, not the neatest drawing but it kinda gives you an idea of what it will look like. Okay so looking at the top of the shitty drawing you will notice that there is a shelf 3 foot up, the top of that is a foot tall veg area. I plan to use velcro around the inner walls of the box to stick power strips to so I can connect Y Connectors & lights were needed. The bottom of that box will be my flower area, it will be 3 feet tall. If you notice at the bottom of that area there are round circles, I am going too cut holes out so the pots can sit inside of them. The idea was to build a drip pan below to catch all the loose soil and water so my box isn't a complete mess all the time. At the bottom of the drip pan you see round circles, that will be wheels so I can move it around easy when needed. That's just about all I have to say about the box, I do still need to buy some mylar. Other then that I should be done tomorrow, I'll probably run to my local hydroponic shop and pick some mylar up & finish the box. I may have to hold of on the drip pan idea, I'll take care of that idea later though.

So I went to water my regular plants today and took a look at my autos. All three of my autos are showing sex, ALL FEMALES! My Big Devils are looking real good, my only Fast Bud that was stressed is finally starting to pull threw and is also showing signs of sex. I was reading up on when to start feeding & from what I have found alot of people are saying to start at week 3. My two BD's seem to be fine but i don't know about feeding my only FB just yet, I am using FF soil nutes. What do you guys think, Im not sure when I should feed them this being my first auto grow? Also I was wondering when I should when I should change my 5000k day light bulbs to my 2700k bulbs to put them into flowering? Do they usally start flowering once they show sex?

I also started building my auto veg / flower box for my closet, it's going to come out pretty good. I am still wondering if those 2.68 liter pots will work, I'm going to cut the holes out for the 8 pots to fit inside the floor to drip pan. I decided to make it 36 inches wide x 22 inches deep x 4 feet tall, that way I can fit 6 3 gallon pots in with no problem for bigger auto strains that need more root space. I'll post pictures when I'm done, it probably won't be finished till Sunday. I have to still get mylar & reflective tape, I looked at Home Depot but couldn't find reflective tape anywheres, any ideas where I could find some?

Hey Foam Ive allways found the reflective tape at one of the larger auto stores.
Thanks for the tip, I'll go check at Auto Zone Saturday. I still need to know about the pot size, nutes, & when to swith lights, anybody?..

Autos LOVE, no, NEED Bigger/DEEPER pots....get some grow bags, the're DEEP, cheap and disposable<min. size i recommend is 2gal<10"d, but if you have the space and depend on how many you growing, go for the 3gal bags<13.5"d...as far as lights, switch em' after you transplant/sexed...I use advance nutrients & fox farm nutes....1/4 strength of what the bottle says in the beginning....nitrogen!
also, get you some cal/mg...black strap molasses too!

Thanks for all your help uptosumpn, I think I'm going to rock 3 gallon pots this grow. I'll look into getting some of those grow bags for my next grow. What's up with the cal/mg & strap molasses, not sure exactly how / what that would be used for?.. As for switching the lights, I just did a few minutes ago. I put (3) 2700k bulbs on them to begin flowering, I'll take more pictures of the setup & plants tomorrow. It rained most of the day today so I didn't get a chance to finish off my closet box but I'll be working on it tomorrow, I'll post pictures of that tomorrow as well.

As for the three 3 gallon pots with dead autos in it, I'm going to pull them out and replace them with:

Flower Power yields beautiful colas that produce a fragrant, tasty smoke, offering concentrated aromas and sweet flavours that linger.* The effects from this Indica-dominant strain allows you to shift down a gear as muscle tension eases.* Flower Power is a really good evening buzz after a tough day.
I'm prett excited to start the Purple Jema off, I'll be pacing them into peat pellets tomorrow. Once the roots pop threw the bags I'm going to transplant them directly into 3 gallon pots to avoid stressing them. I'll most likely start a new post for these 3 buddies but I'll post a link here if you guys are interested in checking them out. Also being that the purples are mixed if I have a male out of the 2 I'm going to place it outside and let it grow seeds. That's it for now, catch you guys later, p'z!...

I dont know man, I have seen some big plants in some small potters, way bigger than the 1 gallon a foot thing you say. And healthy too, just need to be watered a lot more often. Though they do need a good root size in order to grow, I would recommend the 3 gallon potters as well, just to make sure they do have the root space though. I am trying to finish my Fast Bud out in a one gallon, just to see if I can push that limit, but it is hard to tell really with an auto, because even in a 3 gallon, the thing might only get 12-18 inches tall. But 3 gallons will definitely keep you from having to transplant at all, which is a plus. I guess if you keep that as a general rule of thumb one gallon per foot, you wont ever have rootbound issues, so not a bad philosophy when I really think about it. peace and pot to everyone. Oh by the way, I just started a flower power myself, I had four freebies to work with, I gave one away, and just put one in water, 2 left for later projects. Great minds think alike.

I just LOVE purple strains, always wanted to grow one, but my efforts in the past didn't work out as i planned. Good choice with the Jems. Are they spelled ''Jems''? The first logical choice to call them would be Gems ( you know, the really expensive thingies, not the stuff you put on your bread (lol)). When are you going the plant (replace) them??

I honestly think the PJ is the most exciting plant I've picked out so far & I have atleast 5 cup winners, 27 different strains. I'll have to check out those grow bags for sure, how wide do those bags keep? I'm trying to max out my veg / flower box, thats why I was looking for something small. I'll keep an eye out on your PJ thread, I have subscribed & thanks for stopping by my auto journal. Hope to hear from you again, thanks for the helpful info.

I'm going to use 3 gallon pots for this grow but next time if I get some seeds off my male purple I may try in those smaller pots, they only get a foot tall so might work perfectly. Are your Fast Bud's way smaller then the BD, mine is stressed & I only have one so I'm not really sure how big they should be. I can't believe you planted a flower power, you need to stop jockin' my grow style homie, COPYCAT! Just joking, once again it will be nice to compare sizes, do you plan to grow the flower power outdoors as well?

The Purple Jem is indeed called "Purple Jems", it is a underground breed from Mossy from the Joint Doctor. This purple strain may be the prettiest strain out of all my seeds, I am extremely excited to see this baby bud. Might be even more excited for the fact that the bag is mixed, I'm going to seed the shit out of all my males I come across so I will have a constant supply of auto seeds. As for when I am planting them, it has already been done last night. They have not sprouted yet but I just placed them into peat pellets at 12am last night, I'll post pictures & thread link when the time is right. In till then, keep checking back & i'll have some new pictures posted very soon, p'z!..

Here are my auto flower pictures as promised, I started watering them a little heavier this time. The next watering I plan to introduce nutes to them, I wanted to give my FB atleast a few more days before I start hitting her with nutes due to the fact she is coming out of being stressed.

This is a picture of my smallest Big Devil.

Close up of her showing sex.

Here is a shot of her from upper view.

Another close up of her at top view.

Here is my only Fast Bud, she is coming out of being stressed still so thats why she is so much smaller then the others.

Side shot of my Fast Bud, she isn't really all that tall.

Here is my biggest Big Devil.

Here is a picture of my biggest BD showing sex.

Here is a top shot of her.

I agree with meangreen69, a fan can do wonders for us indoor growers

You're going to want to fatten those stems up too because then they'll be better able to hold up FAT buds :)

they look good man..do you have a fan blowing on them?? if not get one. will help those stems to fatten up
I have a small clip on fan that I use, it is set on high at the moment blowing on all of the lights. I probably could use a little more wind on them though.

I'm in the process of building a flower box, I plan to add more fans in there. Hopefully I'll be done by the weekend, I have the frame built already.

Here are more pictures that I just took a few minutes ago, they are starting to get a lot taller. I don't really have much to say, I'm totally baked at the moment. Lets just look at some pictures..>
