Hey all you growers, I harvested my P Ex, 3 weeks ago, and please forgive the poor pics. I am a better grower than a photog! Thanks to all of you here who helped me many moons ago!
Strain: Pineapple Express fem. by G13 Labs.
Growth: She was a freak from the get go...18 hr. germ, and she flowered on day 3 of 12/12! (Great for nervous noobs who get freaked out when things aren't growing as quilckly as they thought).
I grew this under a 1000 watt hps, in a 4 x 4 tent, everything was optimized the whole grow! I had UVb lighting the whole grow, on a 12/12 schedule. I grew this in a modified GH waterfarm, with coco/hydroton medium.
I vegged for 5 weeks, to 27" tall, then flipped her to 12/12. She grew to just under 6' tall, at 55 days flower. I had to lst the top, as it grew with a nasty sativa-like stretch, but even in week 4 of flower, it had no ill effects on her. This is a a very skunky/pine/fruit odor, and reeks of fuel early on in flower. CARBON FILTERS A MUST!
I dried her in my herb dyer, for 3.5 days in 40% humidity. I put her in jars, and opened 3 x per day, for 5 days, then 2 x day, for 3 days, and now just 1 x per day, until the 3 week curing period is done.
Nutes-I fed her GH Flora base nutes, using lucas formula, with GH Liquid Koolbloom, FloraNectar, ANs Sensizyme and Overdrive, and Cal-Mag. She only showed a tinge of nute burn when I upped my bloom booster dose a touch!
Yield-I weighed my buds after 2 weeks in cure.
Top Cola-Came out to 43 grams, and with great density in the nugs.
Tops of main branches-Came out to 55 grams.
Smaller buds-1.5 oz.
Total yield-5 ozs.
Bag Appeal-Huge bag appeal, definitely reeks with potency, its very obvious when you open up that bag and it smells so skunky/fruity that you have to be careful or you could do like I did when I first grew out OG #18. I smoked 3 hits, and I tend to take way too big a toke when it tastes sooo good. Next thing you know, I am comatose, and I catch myself trying to figure out how many tokes I took!! Can you tell I am a lttle faded, right now?!
Smell: 80% skunky smell, 20% fruity smell, in a baggy.
The High: A nice calming, but intense, high! I give this a 9.3/10, and this is my 2nd all-time favorite, behind OG K 18. This is great for med users out there, as it kills any hip, or low back tightness, but with out putting me to sleep. But if I take 4-5 hits over an hour, its too strong and I will end up taking a power nap!
I took a 2 hits in a five minute period out of a glass pipe, and another 30 mins. from that, and they 3rd hit wasn't needed, at all. And I am a fan of potent pot. On the inhale, I got a fruity taste, and if I can hold my hit long enough, it tastes as good on the exhale! Watch out for the expansion, 8/10, IMO!
PICS-What is left of my 3.5 ozs. of buds, after I gifted an oz. to a family member, and put some of the best buds in the hash mix (which turned out excellent, btw!). So I have a bit more than 2 ozs., to keep letting cure slowly, and get stickier, if that possible.
