Will they fix themselves?

Hi I am completely new to growing and this is my first grow, I planted about 10 seeds. But after 3 days i didn't notice any growth so i pushed away some of the dirt on the top and i found that the seeds sprouted but since the dirt on top somehow got compacted, they were not able to go up and out so they curved down into a "U" shape. My question is will they correct themselves now that i have moved the dirt off the top? I noticed that some of them are now standing straight but a few of them are pretty bad, will they survive?

These plants are stronger than allot of people think, you should be fine. Next time make sure your soil is loose when you plant your seed. Water just the top of the soil with a spray bottle. That will help to keep the soil from getting compacted. Also when i germ in soil like that i make sure i water my soil first so i don't drown the seeds. The seed has enough moisture and nutrients in it to survive unaided for at least a day or so from a sprout. The reason you soak them or put them in a wet towel to germ is to wash off there waxy protective coating. The only water you need in the soil is to keep the soil from drying out the seed. Soil needs to be moist but not "wet". Think about it like this, you have a bowl of water (your seeds) and a bone dry sponge, (your soil) when you put the sponge into the water your gonna soak all that moisture up. But if that sponge was moist its not going to soak up near as much water. I hope this is making sense to you, it does to me but then again I just smoked 3 grams of hash with a friend about an hour ago so....

Yeah I put them in 1/4 to 1/2 down but i must of put to much water in there which compacted the soil, I just put them under light though is there a certain lighting ratio i should use or just 12/12?

Thanks for the advice, and yeah it makes sense to me but then i just smoked 2 grams of OG Kush.
