Weird orange foam in reservoir!

Argh. I had weird-ass orange foam in my reservoir last night, clinging to the sides of the tank and frothing up on the roots. I just changed them on Sunday, so it was a fresh tank. I'm using a DWC/Bubbleponics system with 2 Pineapple Express seedlings and 2 rooted Snow White clones.

I poured a gallon of fresh water through the pots and wiped the stuff off the roots and tubing as best I could, and poured a fresh, clean reservoir for them. I also added a layer of duct tape to the lid, to help block the light getting to the water. Everything was looking fine this morning, but the damn foam came back less than 12 hours later.

I just bought a bottle of FloraShield, although the dosage requirements are going to make this really expensive if I'm using it for long. (10 mL per LITER??) Anyone know what the hell I'm dealing with, and how to get rid of it? And is this gonna hurt my ladies?

Any help? I started them on another fresh reservoir with 175 mL of FloraShield mixed in -- here's hoping that fixes the problem.

Well, they looked fine yesterday, but this morning, I wake up, check the tank, and there are SUDS! It's different from the orange foam from earlier--that stuff was thicker and kinda frothy. This looks like soap; just a layer of soap suds on top of the reservoir and clinging to the roots. What's going on??

And can I PLEASE get some responses? 71 views and absolutely no help :(

Well, thanks for all the (NO) help I received. My girls are dead--massive root rot.

You guys are fucking useless. I'm sure if I posted something idiotic I would have gotten a real response, but apparently no one on this forum is remotely intelligent or experienced--seems like more of a congregation of moron stoners. I'll sign up on ICMag, thanks.

You can't blame us because your a shit grower.

If you were intelligent, you would have read up the problem, rather than have other people feed you the information.

Laugh all you want. I'm about to have a 1 lb harvest on Sunday, and two months ago I had six ounces with half the plants, on my first grow ever. According to the hydro store guy, I was doing all the right things to flush out and kill the algae. Too bad no one here is intelligent enough to even pipe up and say something like "There's not much else you can do." That's kinda what threads like these are for--ask for help when you've exhausted other, more knowledgeable sources.

Look, don't get upset. This forum sucks, because its filled with idiot stoners and high school kids. I really shouldn't have expected the one or two actual growers that bother with this place to have checked the Problems forum.

maybe your air stones were disolving or something i dont know man thats shitty. but dont go blaming other people because you dont know what your doing. you should have read up on this somewhere else instead of trying to get your information spoon fed to you like a baby grow up dude

Ergo, I am already rather well-read, and was already performing all the correct procedures for removing algae and fungi from a hydro tank. I merely made the mistake of thinking anyone more experienced than myself would frequent such a hotbed of stupidity.
