Critiques on my grow room design

So I am going to be using the washer/dryer room to turn into a grow room. It seems to be perfect for what I will need. I will be using my bedroom closet for the germination and curing and drying.

I haven't purchased any of the materials yet so these can be changed if anyone has any better suggestions for price and efficiency. Apologize in advance for the shitty pictures, I can't the hand drawn ones to my computer.

I have a few questions too. I'm not sure how much light I will need for these plants (and possibly a few more in the future). I was thinking that I would hang two 400w HPS. You think this will be enough as well as be able to control the heat.

In order to help control heat I was thinking I could put the ballast in the attic area outside of the grow room. My question with this is how hot do these get and is there any fire risk? I'd rather if something tragic were to happen it not start in the attic.

I will be venting a lot of the air up and out of the apartment complex, through the pipe that the built in exhaust vents through. This vents straight outside and is 3 stories off the ground. The air that comes out of the room will be going into these fan boxes I will build and will have activated carbon cleaning the air as it goes out. Will this be adequate smell control? Understandably I'd like this to be a private operation.

Also I will be venting air into the room through the current dryer exhaust. I was thinking about building some fan boxes with some air filters for all air that comes into the room. I'm not wasting time and resources on this am I?

I'll be covering the walls with mylar and building a light proof wall behind the current door.

Thanks a million in advance for the help. I have been really enjoying the people on this forum and how helpful everyone is. If there is interest I will start a grow journal.

lengthy, how big is the room, how many plants? venting three stories up, gonna need a good fan. can u just vent the clean air back into your residence?filtering the incoming air is a good idea.more info = more replies.

:joint:I had to type something here to submit my reply. Please see above:joint: Peace out...
