Cfl grow doesn't show resin until sunlight applied

for pics of the grow u can search this section for my grow journal..

My plants are under 10 X 25watt cfl's..I also have 2 large 150 watt envirolites.......so the plants are getting plenty of light using my light meter.


The plants were about 4 weeks in flower and no freaking resin....I finally got mad and put a few of them on my window sill and in a week they were getting frosty resin in the sunlight...

Now I'm growing bagseed of some regular arizona type smoke.....I'm thinking that this may be an outdoor strain that needs sunlight to trigger resin production.

Do I need to be growing strictly indoor strains?


In the room....

Miracle grow soil
Humidity = 16%
Temp = 80-87degrees

using botanicare fveg and flower nutes...also, I have a vortex fan in the room but I'm not doing anything to move airflow in either location

I'm also using a mixture of color temps with 6500k being the majority and 2700k being the minority at a ratio of about 2:1


Do I need an HPS in the closet for outdoor strains? I had thought my humidity was to high, but got my humidity reader and that is not the case


PLEASE HELP.....PLANTS LOOK NICE BUT I WOULD LIKE THEM TO BUD IN THE CLOSET

I've never heard of a lack of resin with cfl lighting however the spectrum of lights you hav isnt going to help, blue spectrum promotes leafy growth and red spectrum flowers, using blue spec bulbs , ecspecially with cfl's is goin to encourage leafy wispy bud.
you humidity is relative, and your humidity is really really low, you should raise that to 25%.
sorry i can't be of more help, perhaps you plants are being exsposed to light in their dark period and reverting back to veg.

get an ultraviolet bulb or 2 from a pet store, ive seen ones that are cfls that go into normal sockets and they have other versions too, just make sure you know what you buy and if it needs a ballast or not. problem solved

I bought a repti glo 2.0 - I hear the UVB rays should help to form crystals..Most people I see posted have used the 10.0 version but I'm on a budget and it's only 2 plants.

I'll keep u guys posted on the results

Hey man a repti glo 10.0 would have been great though its for desert reptiles, 2.0 is more for rainforest reptiles
