New CFL grow using Miracle-Gro African Violet Potting Mix in 6" pots

Do you know what your temps are outside the box? I've just started flower and am about to build a cab to control smell.

yes, its 78/80 right now, border line for the a/c to get turned on here, the box is at 86. when the outside temp was in the low 70's, itwas at 80/81. night time was 71/73, now its 75/77 which is fine. my box sits in the corner of my bedroom, not in a closet, so im sure thats helping.

also, walgreens has my soil on sale for 99 cents for an 8lb bag. i have good things and bad things about this soil, some people say add more perlite to it, i use it right out of the bag and it works great for me. i was gonna use the african voilet mix, but now i think i just stick with this stuff even when i order some good seeds.

well heres new bean at day 39 and lookin sexy, shes getting buds all over her. i pulled down on the branch a liite more and now the pot is on 1 side and the main bud on the other, LoL.

got my new bag of soil, was thinking maybe i should add a little more perlite for better drainage, not sure yet. it worked fine right out of the bag before.

also, its been 2 1/2 weeks of 12/12 light for flowering, is it to late to cut a couple clones still?

ok, so i wasnt gonna transplant, but i thought about it and decided to try it. i got a 9" pot and bottom that was sitting in front of the house with a dead something in it and wash it out real good. then i took some of the hyponex 99 cent soil and filled in the bottom. i then took the planted 6" pot and kind of rolled it in my hands and loosened up the soil and then i just lifted the whole thing right out.

i broke apart the root ball (which was solid, the size of the pot) a little on the bottom and sides and set it down in the new pot. i then filled in the sides and some on the top and gently slammed it on the ground to settle the dirt. im really glad i did this after seeing the size of the root ball. i watered the new soil real good and i dont think i'll have any problems. i also retied the branch down.

temp is still running about 88 now, but with the door opened just a little, it stays at 86. i have my light cycle of 12/12 set to come on at 8 am and off at 8 pm. im sure i could loose a few degrees if i reversed that and had the lights on at night when its cooler and off during the day. might try it to see.

I have my lights on from 9pm to 9am and have shaved about 5-8 degrees off my temps. stuck around 82 atm. it also makes me more comfortable with my room mate. I dont think he ever comes into my room but its less conspicuous without the bright light coming from under the door. and myself or my gf are always home during these hours.

only thing that sucks is that i share a wall with the bathroom and can hear the vibrations from the fan when I am trying to go to sleep. problem should be solved soon though, on the hunt for a dresser to gut and grow in.

about how long did you have your girl under 12/12 before sex showed? I am only about three days and the anticipation is kiiiiling me.

i live with my sister and she is cool with it, so i dont have to worry about lights or sounds. heres my grow notes from my word journal. new bean is the female and old bean got eatin up in browies, LoL.

3-9/2 pm, the beans have new shoots from where they were topped. new bean has 2 new shoots that should be 2 main colas, old bean on the other hand is only showing 1 new shoot so far??? i will give them a couple more days before putting then into flowering mode. i also will only use rain water for the next couple days till going into flowering mode.

3-12/3 pm, i switched the lights to 12/12 last night and started the flowering nutes. i was able to get in a weeks worth of worm castings (1-0-0) and have also topped the soil with some. the flowering nutes are mixed at 1/4 strength with a full tablespoon of bat guano (0-7-0). old bean is 19 days old and new bean is 15. the plants used just about 2 gallons of water to this point watering twice a day, everyday.

3-15/3 pm, the beans are 22 days and 18 days old today. new bean has caught old bean in growth both plants look great and are full and bushy. now i'll wait to see signs of sex and hope for the best. either way, i will finish the grow to the end. old bean is gonna have 3 main colas and new bean will have 4. only 1 shoot came out where i cut it.

3-23/9 pm, today is 30 days for old bean and 26 days for new bean. old bean turned out to be male as it has seed sacs all over, i will still keep growing it tho as it has bud sites all over it too. new bean hasnt showed any buds yet, but plenty of bud sites are starting. the plants are drinking about a gallon of juice every 4 or 5 days now, i have upped the nutes to 3/4 strength now. they are in the 11th day of flowering.

old bean showed balls at day 27 from seed and new bean showed white pistals at day 28 from seed pop. so i guess about 13 days after i went to 12/12.

the pics are old bean day 27 and the 2nd is new bean at day 28. hope this helps.

thanks, yeah it is something, just plain cheap ass soil. but i think my nute mix i use has helped alot too. i move the 1 of the lower fans up blowing on the light bar and that got a couple degrees off, back to 84 with the door closed during the day. so im happy with that.

still thinking about switchin the light cycle around tho. its day 41 for new bean and shes looking great. look at all the white hairs coming out of that bud. heres some pics, the last 2 are where the was and where it is now. man, i only wish i would have taken some clones off this girl, LoL.

new bean is 42 days old today, everything seems to be goin good. we turned the a/c on yesterday and it helped big time in pulling down the temps, from around 88 to 81 when i got home.

ok, so today makes 3 weeks of 12/12 and flowering and new bean is 43 days old. i did this box because i thought it was big enough for 2 plants and maybe 4. now just this 1 plant fills the whole dam box, LoL. heres some pics.

today also marks 9 weeks since my hip injury. i can kinda walk without the crutches but not for any lenght of time. i hope this get better soon as im running out of money not working. i am going back to the dog track for the first time tomorrow night for the $100,000 distance classic in which we have 2 dogs running and a big fat free dinner at the derby club tho, LoL.

heres new bean at day 44. last night, i tied down the other 4 main branches, now thats 5 all together, shes all spread out over the whole box now. temps are looking good. all the buds have giant whites hairs everywhere, they look great. cant wait, LoL.

no, the box is in my bedroom and its just me and my sister and she's cool with it. at times, it does smell up the the room, but dam, it smells good, LoL.

LoL, yeah, if i rustle her she really puts out a stink. if im laying in there a while, i dont notice it that much, but when i go out and then come back in, WoW, LoL. good sweet smell, wish i knew what kind she is.
