Is there such thing as a hermie pre flower? I have this one plant that is taking forever to show sex. The thing is... You know where you would see male/female pre flowers on the nodes? Well my plant has small nubs coming out (looks like a male pre flower nub, not the seed tho!!) and at the end of the nubs are what looks like tiny leafs sprouting out instead of a cylax. This is extramly confusing me cause I've never seen or heard of a pre flower looking like this or take this long to show sex. My phone camera can't get clear shots and my HD camera broke. Please if anyone can help me out here. Thanks

If you have other plants in your garden i would throw it out. It's better to kill it
than waste anymore time on a plant that is already hesitant to show results.
Always vote quality.

It sounds like a male to me... I've read, but never seen, that a male plant kept in 24hr light will sex. its in either cervantes book or greg greene. Supposedly males don't need the light cycle que to mature. Could be wrong. Just what I've read...

are they from seed? only way they are hermie preflowers is if the mother of the seed had traits likely to hermie or probably was a hermie. it's probably the beginning of male preflowers. how old is the plant? usually plants dont tend to show hermie traits until weeks into flowering cycle. would be great to get a pic. no small white tips forming out of the sacs? then its male toss it

If there are tiny leaves coming out, then you're looking at new growth, side branching - not sex. How old is the plant? How long has it been in flower? Indica or Sativa?

Hey everyone thanks for the replies! First off its a closet grow. I only have 3 plants. My internet is down right now so I'm using my phone to reply. All my pics and info for my grow are on my other thread here called "2nd medical grow [unknown kush]" they have come out of the shock I think that I recently just posted. They are from seed and about one month old or more. Just over 1 week of 12/12 light schedule. Also what I'm seeing on this plant is not new growth. Its exactly on the side of the stem where the nodes are. (if anyone has Jorge curvantes medical growers bible. Go to chapter1 page 3 and look at the picture in bottom left, that small nub is exactly what I'm seeing but with tiny leafs sprouting out of it. There are a few of these on the main nodes. Not the shutes ) I would also like too add in. From closer inspection on this plant I found a white hair/cylax on one of the shutes. So I'm dealing with a female or a hermie. I just never seen anything like this befor. Also if it is a hermie.. How hard is it too keep it in my closet? I've heard of people picking the seeds off as it grows. I cannot afford to lose any medacin

in the future a good way to tell the sex of your plant without risking the well being of your other girlies is taking a clone off of your vegging plant on 18/6 and in a couple days of treating like a new cut clone put it under a 12/12 cycle. the clone will show you if it is male or female in a week or two then you can decide to trash the actual plant or not. this is an often overlooked method and it works wonders to keep those dudes out of your garden without them getting too mature

If i understand correctly Ive seen this same thing before. is it only on the one node? check for a light leek. OR if you see what looks like little leaves coming out it could just be a new forming branch, I have seen some sativas that can take over a week on 12/12 to see preflowers

Thiss sucks! I wish I could get pics of this up! But can't... They are on a couple nodes. They aren't new growth or side branching. If only I could show everyone... Like I mentioned before if anyone has curvantes book go to chapter 1 page 3. Bottom left corner, it looks exactly like that nub in the exact same place. Only mine has tiny leafs coming out the end. Its really making me curious what this is, I've never seen or read about it. ALSO like I said befor too, earlier today with closer inspection I found a white hair/cylax on one of the shutes/side branches. So I'm hoping its female not hermie. I just dont understand what these other things are showing up on the nodes where pre flowers are soposed to be. And about light leeks.. I don't think that's a problem.. My room is dark the entire 12 dark hours except for the few minutes I turn my lamp on when I get home (this did not effect my last grow) my closet doors shut flush with the wall. There is maybe a 1mm gap on each side but pretty sure light doesn't get through or my last 3 plants would have hermied for sure... So if anyone could try n help that would be awsome. Thanks :leaf:

yeh picks would help alot bro. is this same strain as your last plants? some strains can be super senitive to light in thier dark cycle while others are really hard to turn hermie. i just dont think it could be anything else just grow and see what happens if you end up with just a few pollen sacs you try to pull um before they break open.

oK I looked it up and it tells you the answer big guy.... pic on the left is a male 4 weeks into veg growth.
Plus if it has purple stems you prob wacked her Ph and made IT go gay or butch.... Copy that? Black it out for 36 and then check it if you are a non believer---but if you want big buds no men around. See pics if you can the numbered ones are a female for comp and the others are labeled

Hey thanks for the help dude. It turns out she was a female, I see no seed like structure anywhere, just cylax's, its still a pre-flower I've never seen befor, I'll post pics on my other thread when I borrow an hd camera... But yea I guess its just genetics that made it grow that way, but all 3 of my ladies are doing good now, very green, fast growth, I couldn't be happier. Thanks again. This thread is closed. Anyone wants to help or watch my grow feel free. The tread is 2nd medical Grow [unknown kush] (I'm at work on my phone right now so can't get direct link) thanks again. Peace :leaf:
