Help this Swede make the cold north a little more green!

Hello RIU.

Sweden is a smokers worst nightmare. We got too much standard hasch and too little green. So I thought to myself "Fuck it! I'll start growing it myself". Anyhow, I've read alot of guides, threads, books and watched a few movies about it so I feel well prepared and comfortable about it. But I do have some questions regarding lightning and tents.
This is for indoor growing and I want to have 4-6 plants.

I'm gonna have 2x Secret Jardin DR80, 1 for veg and 1 for flowering.

Is there going to be enough space for 4-6 plants?
Is 600w MH (the veg tent) and 1000w HPS (the flowering tent) going to burn my house down or is it possible in a DR80 with very good ventilation?
If I should get a bigger tent, which one do you prefer? Or should I ditch the tents and build cabinets instead?

Thanks in advance.

with a cool tube and a 6 inch duct fan you'd just about be able to run the 6oow in that tent really you'd want to go bigger or build a wooden cabinet that size

the 1000w would need a bigger tent/ box and a bigger fan too

Howdy, Shuno. Was looking at the tent you mention when I noticed this :

Model DR80 Specs

Dimensions: 31.5" x 31.5" x 63"
Cord access: (2) Two cord ports
Fan mounting: (3) One fan port for extration, two fan ports for intake
Free Flow Ventilation: (3) Three ventilation windows
Recommended lighting: 1 x 250 watt HPS or MH system, or LED grow light

That tent is only rated for a 250 watt light which means the ventilation needed to keep a 600 or 1000 watt cool, would have to be retrofitted to accomodate the smaller exhaust ports. Personally I think you should get the DR100 (400w) and the DR120 (600w) and just scrap the 1000w. A 1000w puts off about the same light as 600w plus twice the heat and uses more electricity. Alot of growers are moving from the 1000w specifically for that reason.

4-6 plants about 3-5 feet tall should fit nicely.

How much bigger tent do you think I'll need for the 1000w? Will a DR100 do? Thanks alot for the quick answer ginjawarrior.

Wow, thanks a bunch blakk! That's about all info I need. I'll take your advice and use a 400w and 600w instead.

shuno,

I feel your need buddy, if nobody you know has it and you don't want to muck it up with the scum of the earth to find it, then just grow your own!!:leaf:

I agree with the recommendation to go with a 400w or 600w light in no less than a DR100. (DR120 x 2, w/ 600w x 2 would be ideal! In my opinion, with the experiences I've had with a DR100 and a 400 watter I'd say a setup like that would be perfect.)
I have a DR100 and I'm very happy with it. I'm running one 400w light with a closed hood and a 250cfm inline fan that does great in cooler weather all by itself. I live in a hot almost tropical climate. It's getting hotter and I'm going to have to find a way to keep things a little cooler, ie more ventilation, maybe even a a/c.
I, with enough equipment, I could make a 600w light work in this DR100, but it would be involved. A 1000w light is just to big for anything smaller than a DR140 - 200 or whatever the next thing up is.... my two cents... good luck, be safe.
