Hello good people. Im in the process of making my first grow room/tent. so far i have purchased a 600w light with a euro 6 inch reflector and a six inch charcoal filter combo with a 424cfm inline fan. i plan on getting this tent http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-100-REFLECTIVE-INTERIOR-GROW-TENT-4-x-4-x-6-5-Ft_W0QQitemZ160412094641QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item25594e50b1

i got the foxfarms liquid soil formula 3 pack. im going to be doing a soil grow. I was wondering if this will be enough cooling and enough light. i plan on doing 6 plants at a time. also is there any other major purchases i should be expecting to get. Thank you. this is kind of hitting me harder in the poket than first expected but would much rather spend the dough now than get skimped down the line.

Six female plants will fill that tent up nicely and you have a good light that will do the trick. You need to move air through there and exhaust the hot air.

Is the light/fan combo a cool tube? If so, thats good but you will need fan(s) in there to move air around.

Definately..DEFINATELY get a digital PH pen w/7.01 calibrating solution. I would also get a small jug (quart or less) of Cal-Mag+ and a syringe or small measuring glass.

http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=49541 is the reflector. what size fans would you sugest for inside? i was figuring mayby one or 2 small clip on fans. what part should i put these on? i was going to vent with filter - inline fan - reflector - exhaust? should i put the inline fan after the reflector or before? not sure on small things like that. they seem to have a few cheap ph pens on ebay, are they good enough quality to be trusted?

ya and don't expect to be able to get everything at one either. Just when you think you have everything you'll find out through reading this website that you need ten more things. I had a pretty comprehensive budget planned out at the beginning of this month and I'm already over budget by $600. But hey that's what it takes if you wanna hang with the big dogs. Can't cut corners.

Tarps
extension coards
flouros for seedlings/clones
heating mat + temp controller
replacement bulbs incase one breaks
chains + hooks
extra soil
duct tape (lots of it!)
sound deadening material
soil ph tester
perilite
tiny measuring cup
rapid rooted or jiffy pots (trying both to see which I like better)

the little extras add up big in the end :)

A couple clip on fans should circulate the air around. You can get a digital hanah ph probe on ebay. Just make sure you get the 7.01 solution so you can calibrate it. Here is a link for an ebay auction w/7.01 included.

thank you for the link!! about the heating mat. i was planning on doing 3 gal pots and budding at one foot. is it necessary for me to have a heating mat?

No the heating mat is for a small tray of cubes (google rapid rooter or jiffy pot) to keep seedlings and clones grow medium at an ideal temperature to speed up growth. If you go straight into a pot then it is unnecesary. The idea is that you can plant 30 or more germinated seeds or clones in these smaller containers for the first few weeks of life which groups them closer together so you can use a less powerful light (65w flouro) and be able to speed up growth by keeping their grow medium at an ideal temp. All I know is that everyone that got one was very impressed (even outside the mj community). Necessary? No. Benificial? Yes

as far as the ph testing solution goes. do i need to use this everytime i test with it or is it only once to calibrate it to that ph?

got the tent today. this thing is alot more sturdy than i thought it would be.
Yeah man. I have that same tent only about half the size. using a 600 watt hps setup also. Maybe we can learn from each other as the grows move long.
my new grow journal with all the specs

so far I am having some heat issues. But the one thing I can think you might want right off the bat is something to make the inline fan not so loud. It sounds like an airplane in your living-room. A lot of people build their own silencer which will cost a little money. I just made one yesterday.
