should I be using the bulbs with lower kelvin rating for seedlings? The ones I am using are all 'DAYLIGHT' 5500K

its too early to tell, they are still green so thats a good thing i would say... the problem ive experienced with bagseed is that they seem to grow alot slower than if u buy seeds from a bank. give it a couple more days. mist at least twice a day. dont over water. and keep a cool bulb very close to it IMO. i use cool fluros, i can touch them and they arent hot.

They're fine under that spectrum for vegging. The real question is how many watts of light you have.

They are doing fine. I'm not sure about the light though...... but I am interested in an answer. Though the fact that they are growing to begin with means they will probably keep going and you have nothing to worrry about....... except quality/quantity

its 3 27watt bulbs right now..I am going to add 5 27watt tonite or in the morning for a total of 216 watts..should I just go ahead and add another 8 on an additional surge protector?

i think that could be your problem; MG is crap and is notorious for killing seedlings because they cant handle the nutrients. did you realize your giving them a big dose of nutrients every time you water?

thats also why your plants in the back yard are healthier, because theyre in neutral soil

start one or 2 more in a cup of yard soil and see if they dont surpass this plant in a few days to a week
