Never mind the fact that when Obama came into office almost 800,000 jobs were being lost a month, and since it takes a year or more to foreclose anyone who has lost their house this year their problems started under Bush. Obama actually has done a remarkable job in cleaning up Bush's mess, just as Clinton did with the first Bush.

I dont work for the government but this person believes that you guys have it tough. Have you actally been out of the USA? It doesnt sound like it. You dont know what corruption is. I am not an American but an Australian so i am commenting from an outside view. I completely agree that politicians are overpaid monkeys except we cant live without them. The American public does have some responsibilty to take themselves. I am not against the war but the financial figures on that are astronomical. Do i even need to mentin that brainless NASA? Those bloody graphs you have posted are all what they want you to see. There is no truth in it. Did you know that America is to blame for a lot of the worlds financial troubles taking place. It was people borrowing too much money that couldnt afford it that has fucked it up so much. That rediculous system where you hand back the keys if you cant pay your home loan. Again quite laughable.
I do love America as without them us as Australians would have been speaking Chinese by now but i cant understand the craziness that goes on there. I very much agree that we ( the US ) have many advantages, such as lack of corruption. This is more of an argument to maintain some of the principles that many believe resulted in success for all, and that we are 'progressing' in the wrong direction. Americans have it relatively good compared to the rest of the world, I certainly agree with that.

The population does need to take some responsibility.

Oh, we blame the people all the time.. Just that the politicians are easy representatives of our anger towards a particular view. I'm pretty sure that's what they were elected for.
And personal responsibility, hell yes, that's a social flaw.

this is where you lost me. the duty of government is not profit, but the protection of its citizens. government creates nothing, government produces nothing and has no funds of its own. all of government's funding is profit created by the individual and confiscated in the form of taxes, funding that is intended for the operation of that government and its services. the burden of creating profit is on the individual, not government.

The question is...is the change for the better or for the worse? 60 years ago we started leading the world economically and militarily. Today that dominance is being challenged by China. People here STILL underestimate them even as we have handed China the keys to our economic engine. People here are embracing ideologies that would've gotten them openly mocked and ridiculed 60 years ago. All the time completely unaware that China has become more powerful by emulating us. They have distanced themselves from Communist ideologies and we have gotten closer to them.

Sorry i am still unsure of how to repond to multiple posts at the same time. I am glad i wasnt bombarded with abuse so thank you. The duty of the government in my eyes is to provide a situation where the correct amount of taxes is being extracted from the correct people thus resulting in a profitable society. To say that the individual provides all the financial support is correct. However the government is there to provide you with, a somewhat, intelligent way to dispurse those funds. No government is perfect.

I believe that Americans as a whole have life pretty easy. I may not have stated it properly before but i believe that commercial entities are running your country and not the government.
Commercial enterprises also pay a great deal of money for your roads, tranport, cost of food and many other things that you take for advantage. Like i said previously its pretty ignorant to get irritated about these things when you live in one of the most advantaged countries in the world. In my opinion, which is only MY opinion, i do always find it hard to understand people whinging when they are actually entitled to more than they deserve.

Like Australia, Americans get welfare. To me i think there is actually a job out there for anyone willing to work. It may be a shit job but there is a job. People for some reason believe that they are beyond doing a specific job. You look at many Asian countires and this doesnt bother them. They work their arses off for sweet fuck all and dont whinge half as much as Australians or Americans.

Anyway i may be rambling but it gets under my skin. I have grown up thinking that America is the strongest country in the world but the way it is being run and also the way that American people are behaving is the result in China taking that mantle a few years ago and i dont see it going back. that is a socialistic model and i'm sure there are many people who would agree with you, but it is based on the concept of wealth redistribution and is inherently unjust toward the individual. its results are a society governed by mob rule and the creation of a political elite, distributing confiscated funds to those it deems worthy. that "correct amount of taxes extracted from the correct people" is entirely at the discretion of whatever regime is in power, whether it favors industry or the envious mob, and the very concept flies in the face of the tenets of the constitution, which promises equal protection for every individual.

the concepts of liberty and individual rights as described by the founders of this nation include the rights to both success and failure. that each individual is responsible for their own path and that no man or agency has the right to interfere in that path is fundamental to the ethos of our society. that the society may rise or fall by the choices of its individuals may be true, but it is not our government's place to exert undue influence over those choices. government's only duty is to protect our basic rights while we make our own way through this life.

Japan actually attacked Australia...China never did. We saved you from Japanese occupation. China was occupied by Japan. Korea was occupied by Japan. That is the truth of it all. Fact is China never has been a nation that was imperialistic in it's desires. China has long realized that their nation is so vast...that they have all the land and resources that any nation on Earth could ever want.
