Green iguanas!

I went to petco stoned as fuck yesterday and I ended up staring at an iguana long enough to make me buy 1. So I got it a tank and some sticks so it can climb around its pretty small about 7inches.
He or she just hangs out on the same branch since ive got it almost 1full day.
i got some questions like what should I feed it? and if it doesnt want to eat soon what should I do? and how about a light? I have a 60watt regular house bulb over the tank its warm but not hot i can keep my hand under the light with little discomfort. any advice would help alot you guys.

Whats all this talk about humidity?? and how long can they go without eating? is it just getting used to its new home or does it not eat? cuz it wont eat anything im giving it.

I had an iguana for about 12 years. They make great pets when they get bigger. Mine used to use the cat's litter box and go back to his heating pad every night by himself. I stopped putting the top on his tank when he reached about 1 foot in length and he just did his own thing all day while I was at work. One thing I learned the hard way (because he died) is you HAVE TO give them calcium supplements if they don't get enough through normal feedings or if they don't get enough UV lighting. Make sure you give it lots of fruit and not just greens only... and stay away from that iguana food pellet crap. They'll selectively eat what looks good to them... (.. like just the green pellets). Lettuce is also not the best food for them, it's just full of useless nutrients they wont process. Good Luck !

she stays in the same spot all day is there anything i should do? or should i let her be? what about the spraying of water?? ive read its good to mist them with water from a spray bottle

What is the temperature? What is the humidity? What kind of enclosure are you using? Are there and hide areas? Is fresh water constantly available? What are you offering for food? You will absolutely need UV lighting, for the lifelong health of your Iguana, along with vitamin supplements.

I know someone who had 2 giant iguans they were like 3' each.The cage was huge and wooden to.It wasn't know aquarium shit.When they died he turned the cage into a grow room.It worked perfect for a veg and flower room to.

i went out to buy it a large wooden cage today cost me alot but at least its gona have space when it gets big. she kinda picked at her food a bit the strawberries seem to make her munch. she got out the tank for a real cool while earlier she climbed all over the stuff in my room and on her own she found her way back to the tank.
as for temps and humidity i have no damn clue. its as hot as a 60watt bulb gets and i dont know about humidity.... what should it be?? ima buy a thermometer and humidity reader thing tomorrow.

when is the best time to feed it?? and what exactly are greens? i know what veggies are and is it bad that she eats the fruit more then the veggies? is broccoli okay?

ok so i got a UVB light and a heat matt!!! how can i get the humidity up in the tank?? and can i place a towel over the heat matt so it can lay on itz/ and wouldnt it be warmer with the towel on it?

Cool that you got the UV light and the calcium. I had one of those mini-humidifiers on a timer outside his cage and it kept him pretty tropical. Use a towel on that heating pad for sure, iguanas crap like sea-gulls and you don't want that mess all over a new heating pad..lol. I forgot about having a good hiding spot, that's pretty important for when they're little. I'm no reptile pro.. I just know what worked and what didn't work for mine. Don't worry about how skittish they are when they're young, it'll grow out of it eventually. The more you pick it up, the better. Just dont pick it up by the tail...lol... it'll come right off and grow back weird and stumpy.

thanks for the response ive been busting my head figuring shit out. humidity right now is at 60percent how can i bring it up?? and she hasnt pooped for like three days is that bad?
im sorry but i really wana keep this iguana comfortable super new to all this.
