Brown Spots

Hi,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I did read the "Read this First", and I have been looking at all sorts of plant problems, but i haven't seen any spots like the ones I have. Well I don't have them but my plants do.

I got two clones that are "Headband" that have been vegging for about 5 weeks. Early on they were in a tiny cabinet so I was cutting them back due to the confined space. Now they are in a DR 60 which is 24" X 24" X 55". I am using a 125 watt CFL with the Vege. bulb. It's in a hydrofarm hood with reflector. 18/6 cycle. They are in their own two gallon bucket, and I usually water about once every four days. I stick my finger down in the soil and if I feel moisture I hold off. If it feels dry I water.

All in all I am very happy because this is my first grow, and it's also legal and medical which is a huge plus!!

They have been in my new tent for about two weeks, but the growth has been slow. I am fairly sure I shocked them with the amount of trimming I was doing, but like I said the were in a tiny cabinet and I had to do it.

They are about 16 inches tall each, but the only thing I don't like is the recent occurrence of these small brown spots on the leaves. I have no idea what it is.

Thank you!

Edit: Plants are in organic soil of unknown make. I must confess I have never checked the ph of the soil, and I have been watering with both bottled spring water and tap water. I do intend to get a ph meter soon.

It's starting to get deficient, and needs some veg fert, something with micro-nutes, because it looks like the beginning of both a magnesium and calcium deficiency(looks like nitrogen also, and others will likely be coming soon). CalMag plus is excellent, and has trace nutes, and any decent fert with high nitrogen will do the trick for the macro-nutes.

They look pretty good though, for your first grow. Excellent job.

Thank you so much!! I am going to the store right now to see what I can find.

Sorry for the double post everyone. I am working on deleting the second one.

have you checked closely for bugs of any kind?

Could also be micro nute problem as suggested...

I don't think I did before, but I went out of town for four days and I just got back today and there are a ton of gnats everywhere. But like I said I'm pretty sure they weren't there before. I don't know if those guys can cause any problems? But from my experience I would say there are regular gnats.

Aside from that I picked up some Cal Mag Plus today and just fed my plants some of that mixed with a very dillute mixture of Earth Juice "Grow". 1 tsp per gallon of the EJ.

Thanks for your help!!
