i live in the northeast and was wondering when would be good to plant some seeds outdoor ??
If your in the new england area I'd say anytime after 4/20 is good unless ur in the boonies in Maine or something. Its mainly trying to figure out when the last frost will be. And the north east has been having shit ass weather lately so I'd wait til ur sure ur plant wont get flooded out or blown out of the ground.

Fuck weather.:wall:

Thank you, Makes sense to wait out this flood we have been having out here around Mass. The frost shouldn't be an issue for too much longer. Another question is should i germinate or just spread some seeds out? I've heard missed results to this question.

ya mos def germinate it gives them a better chance u just spread around 20 seeds or so u will be lucky to see one sprout. It does happen though my buddy throws 100's in his moms garden and every summer anywhere between 1-5 sprout and out of those 1/3 is female so its not effecient but does work.

mine arent going out untill may and they'll be a couple months old. i want a little buffer so the temperature of the ground can go up so i wont get a lot of stunting

haven't done an outdoor grow in a while, maybe this year, but did quite a few of them years ago
planting early isn't worth the trouble, it doesn't change the ripening time
so planting earlier will get bigger plants, which may or may not be a good idea
but the light cycle will set the budding time

i was planning on doing it on april 3rd but wtih all thisflooding would that be to early? !
in my opinion it's too early, a lot depends on the location and conditions there
i used to plant early, but your chance of seed rot goes up
3rd week of april better

In the northeast( ma and above) beginning of may is the earliest you could plant. Look up your state/town to find out the ballpark frost dates http://www.victoryseeds.com/frost/
planting earlier than may would put your crop in danger.
beginning of may is better, but i had crops that i planted in 3rd week of april that grew fine
it's a crap shoot on the weather, if you get lucky(which i did), then you get the early start
tell you the truth, mid may is even better, smaller plants are fine by me
but other conditions are present, such as getting eaten alive by bugs in mid may, at least i did my grows
no bugs in april, which is why i planted when i did

Yea, it varies year by year. This year, northeast growers might be able to start the crop a little earlier. The weathers been decent (besides all the damn rain) so we might be in luck. It's suspossed to get in the 80's this week, hopefully the temp will stay up and keep the damn snow away!

To the OP, if you can't find your town in the link, there's another good website on here somewhere. I'll try to find the link.

it's better, and planting by the 'signs' sounds good, got to get the growing mojo going
it's still a bit early, but there are good things/bad things with the early plant
usually, the soil moisture is higher then, which may give a better chance of establishing plans without having to water(if you're growing in the ground, not pots)

Just keep an eye on the weather. I would highly recommend planting close to your last frost date though. The weather up here is very unpredictable. Better to be safe than losing your whole crop.

best advice imo dont put em out till may n make sure they are already established female healthy plants.
