Need ballast help PLEASE

Hello im starting my first room and a friend gave me a hydrotek 1000w 240v hps ballast... my problem is my out lets are 120v i have a ac out let on my wall but dont know if its 240... is there any way to change my ballast to 120 or should i try the ac out let with an extenshin cord??? thank you for any help

one of the only things you could probably do is wire a 240 volt outlet straight to the breaker...but i'm not too sure, look it up!

if it looks like a standard outlet,2 verticle slots & a hole, it will be a 110 outlet.a regular extension cord wont fit a 220 outlet.
MOST ballasts can be opened up & wired for 110 or 220 but judging from your post,you dont have the electrical knowhow to do it safely,find a buddy who can or an electrician. meybe an electrical repair shop?
