Wall mounted aquarium/ DWC Concept.

Hey guys, I like the Idea of an attractive grow room. I also like the Idea of never having to add Nutes and having my PH auto balanced by nature, So I came up with this.

It's an aquarium and root chamber mounted to the wall. It'd be made with extruded aluminum and plexi sheeting. The water would be pumped from the bottom of the root chamber into the bottom of the aquarium, and a line attached below the water line in the aquarium to dump it back into the root chamber. This could be a constant flow of super thin PVC, or even 1/4 inch aquarium line. I'd use an inline Sum pump for the bottom pump. There'd be an airstone at the bottom of the root chamber. Standard hydroton for the first part of the root res would aid in filtering the aquarium water, and you could put some algae eaters to keep that down. Obviously you'd have to black out the root res, but that's not too much work.

For larger yields, you only have to widen the root res and plant more. I'd love to grow some monsters in a setup like this.

*Sorry for the drawing, it took me >9000 hours in paint. Fuck Photoshop or Autodesk inventor.

If it took you ">9000 hours in paint", then how long would it take you to actually make this thing?

Cool idea though, +rep for lateral thinking

Ha, yeah... It really took about 25 minutes, but I've got a lot of experience building things.

it looks wicked man, aquaponics are ok, considering it's totally organic and doesn't use any artificial nutrients only the wastes of your aquarium fish, but if you want prime, top-of-the-line bud, you gotta do something else...
